That still doesn't mean that Peter deserves a rematch. Wlad's win over Peter was clear & decisive. It was close on the score card b/c of the KD's. If you can't beat someone w/ 3 KD's on your side, you don't deserve a rematch. The only reason the fight was competitive was b/c of those KD's b/c minus those, it would have been an ugly, ugly loss for Peter.

Who else is on your list of people that Wlad should fight? Briggs? Haye? Brewster III? Tyson? Any other people who's only credential to earning a title shot w/ Wlad is that they might knock him out before he knocks them out?

no, but he is a high ranked guy with a belt...this fight will be more competative then you think...I don't expect a complete blowout...Iggy will stick and move as much as possible to stay out of Wlad's range. He's not going to stand right in front of him....well I assume he won't anyhow

I'd rather he fought David Haye, the only proviso being he has to agree to having his hands tied behind his back

    Haye KO 1

The people you named are not my list of fighters I think Wlad should fight, I named only fighters that are currently ranked in the top 10 and have a good chance of giving Wlad a comepetitve and exciting fights for us fans. The last 2 Iggy fights put most people to sleep, if he's going to be catious fighting Holyfield, I could only imagine what he will be like fighting a powerful fighter like Wlad.

Iggy beat Briggs and Holyfield, what top 10 guy cant do that anymore, James Toney a blown Heavyweight knocked out Holyfield, and Briggs was beat and was knocked down when he fought Mccline. The fact that Iggy had a draw with Austin is sad, considering Wlads easy knockout of him in the second round earlier this year.

Fair enough, its still going to be a boring fight until Wlad lays the hammer down on Iggy in the 7th or 8th round. As a huge Heavyweight boxing fan, this fight does not interest me in the least. I will watch it of course, but its not a fight that really excites me overall.

I'm not saying that Iggy is Wlad's best option (but he's up there), just that Peter shouldn't even be in the discussion at this point.

If Peter dominates Maskaev (which I don't think he will), I'll put him as a front runner for Wlad. But until then, the only HW that I would put ahead of Iggy are Chagaev & Lykhovich (Maybe Maskaev depending on how he looks beating Peter). Anyone else is just a circus act hoping to get a lucky punch in.

Will have to agree to disagree on this one, Lykhovich doesnt deserve a shot of any kind at Wlad, hes gun shy anyway, which is the wrong thing to be when fighting a guy like Wlad.

Peter is going to destroy Maskaev, 3rd round knockout with one punch, it will be the overhand right that finishes him, the same punch Rahman was able able to land on Makaev early in there 2nd fight.

The only fighters that deserve a shot at Wlad are Ibragimov, the winner of Oleg-Peter and especially Ruslan Chagaev.

Of course, some interesting bouts would be against Valuev (because of the size), Ruiz (because it would be nice to see him KTFO), Tua (because of his power, although he's not in his prime) and Povetkin (I'd prefer Sasha to win a few more fights before a title shot).

Punisher can't seem to grasp the idea that TWO TITLES are being UNIFIED after 8 YEARS......THAT is the main thing that makes this a very important and crutial fight.

SOmehow, he thinks short term, and can't see the big picture and the longterm benefit of a unified champion.

But, we love good ol Punisher, anyway, as slow witted as he is. :blood

I'm hoping if Lykhovich gets a shot at Wlad, it's the one that fought Brewster that shows up. That Lykhovich is better, tougher, and more dangerous than any version of any of the other challengers. But I'll wait to see if he pulls the upset in his fight w/ Valuev (Valuev TKO 10) before I start putting him on my shoulders as the guy Wlad has to fight.

My New Year's resolution is to only go by a fighter's last, not best, fight, so that's why I have Maskaev KO11 Peter.

    Yet another correct post. :good

Wlad can not do anything right in Punisher's eye, or others like him. He could knock Peter or Chagaev out cold in the middle of the ring, (and he will knock them both out, in the future), and Punisher would complain, saying he took too many rounds to do it.

No, start a poll and ask which people would rather see:

    Unification fights

    or

another meaningless non unification fight that may, or may not, be perceived to be more competitive

I'd take reducing the number of titles, ANYday over another meaningless defense. Afterall, if all someone is doing is merely defending his title, what the f**k does that really mean, when he's only got ONE FOURTH of the title, anyway? Let him collect the titles, THEN, he'll have something worth defending. :good

Noone can argue with that reasoning. There IS no counter to that.
