Just for a bit of fun, I thought i'd start a thread, just see to what people's preferances are. So, here goes:

    Would you rather

1 - Win an Olympic Gold Medal or win a Paper World Championship?

2 - Headline at MSG or MGM?

3 - Go 10-0 (8 KOs) against guys with losing records, or go 8-2 (5 KOs) against 5 fighters with winning records?

4 - Train in the USA or in the UK?

5 - Have a world class jab or a world class straight?

6 - Win the WBA, WBC, WBO or IBF World Title?

7 - Be a 3 weight World Champion (a proper world champion), or dominate a single division for 5 years?

8 - See your favourite fighter outclassed over 12 rounds, losing a shutout, or see him blasted out of their in 3 rounds having won the first 2?

    Extra Questions:

1 - Dr Mo - would you rather get banned for steroids or get caught with dodgy wraps?

2 - Dr Mo - Would you rather have a shaky chin & great powers of recovery or have an iron chin & a paper face?

3 - Vano - Would you rather have the perfect left hook to the body, or the perfect right uppercut on the inside?

4 - Vano - Would you rather be extremely heavy handed, but the slowest of the top contenders in your division, or be faster than everyone, but have only medicore power, say 60% (not a Calzaghe 60% I will add)

By all means, post a few words as to why you would rather do one thing and not the other.

    Go :hey

    1. Gold Medal, more prestigious
    2. MGM, Vegas is the better town to celebrate a win
    3. 10-0, these days the '0' is important
    4. USA, better weather :yep
    5. Jab, most important tool in boxing
    6. IBF, the other belts arent as legit anymore
    7. One division, not a fan of weight jumping
    8. Blasted out in 3, win the EVT

Is this some sort of psychometric test? How did I do?

    1. Win an Olympic Medal

The prestige of an Olympic medal is unrivalled IMO. You can win a paper championships in a Universum gym, behind closed doors and that just doesn't compare to winning a medal in front of thousands of people against the cream of the crop, even if it is amateur.

    2. Headline at MSG

Madison Square Garden is just a legendary venue, it's beautiful, got love for it

    3. Go 10-0

Honestly, I can see a lot of momentum being lost in early losses, it can be very damaging IMO. You see a lot of fighters pack it in after an early loss, and I guess you can't know how demoralising it is until you experience it. Whereas you'd be supa confident after a 1O FIGHT win streak.

    4. Train in the US

Definitely the US for me. So many top coaches, the very best in the world teaching what they have to offer in the US. No brainer for me. So many different styles too.

    5. World class jab.

Dictating the pace in a fight is so important IMO, it get's slept on. With a world class jab your one step closer to controlling the pace and having the tempo of the fight in your favour.

    6. IBF

Not historically very prestigious, but it's the best belt around today. I'd pick whichever is the most respectable in the current climate.

    7. 3 Weight World Champ

Henry Armstrong or Ricardo Lopez? Nahmsayin? You wanna get true recognition, staying in one division will only enhance your legacy so much. You gotta maximise the potential.

    8. Losing over the 12

I hate seeing my favourite fighter blasted out. I love Ricardo Mayorga and it's horrible to watch him being crunched by Trinidad, even though he KD's Tito and started off well. Just can't stomach it.

You score low Mo (hey, that rhymes) as you clearly cant put a sentance together. SportsLeader TKO Mo (TKO MO, that rhymes as well) in this thread so far :deal :D

Excellent stuff, exactly what i was looking for :good

I had a funny feeling most people will want to win the Gold.

By all means, post your own questions and i'll edit them in the OP

    1. Gold medal more prestigious
    2. MSG-History of the venue.
    3. 10-0 no one is beating me
    4. Uk-I like home.
    5. World class jab- love fighters who have a good jab.
    6. WBC not totally sure why not a lover of any.
    7. 3 weight- as long as you mean being the man at each weight.
    8. Outclassed-I can accept them being beat by a better man a bit more easily.

I'd rather the handwraps. If i'm going to get busted for being a cheat, I dont want to be able to shift the blame onto someone/something else. Plus, with the plaster, you bump up your KO %

    :good Well said

I will be shamelessly ducking you or demanding a catchweight:bolt

Extra, extra question: Would you rather have a shaky chin & great powers of recovery or have an iron chin & a paper face?

I love questions like this :good I'll try and read all the answers if I get a bit of time later but I'm going out in a min.

    Here's mine anyway:

    1. Gold Medal - if I was a pro boxer, I genuinely wouldn't give a toss about paper belts

    2. MGM - even though Madison Square Garden is historically better, nowadays the bigger fights go to Vegas.

    3. 10-0 (8 KOs) - which is not usually what I'd say. But I think would give me a better chance of progressing, from there on I'd like every fight to test me. Overall though, I'd much rather fight better opponents and lose, than only win by being protected.

    4. USA - better climate and overall would be a better place to train. Not much else to say.

    5. World class jab - it's the bread and butter. Big straights may be more eye-catching, but I think I'd be quite a defensive boxer and a jab would suit me well.

    6. Can I say neither? - I hate all of these ****ing belts nowadays.

    7. 3 weight champion - especially when you say "proper", that would be beating 3 good champions and constantly testing yourself and your body as you move up. Plus, dominating divisions can get boring IMO.

    8. See him blasted out - there's not much more frustrating than clearly getting beaten to me. It's hard to figure out where they'd go from there whereas a quicker knockout is just over quicker. Also, it's not me taking the punches..

Extra 1 for Mo. Steroids, easily - I'm pretty sure a hell of a lot of athletes (particularly fighters) have used PEDs. Dodgy wraps is just far more immoral to me.

Glass chin all day long. The fans want excitement, and a glass chin gives it to them.

    2 extra questions.

1 Would you rather have the perfect left hook to the body, or the perfect right uppercut on the inside?

2 Would you rather be extremely heavy handed, but the slowest of the top contenders in your division, or be faster than everyone, but have only medicore power, say 60% (not a Calzaghe 60% I will add)
