Not me. It'd just add fuel to the argument that all limey fighters are just hype jobs/one hit wonders, who are just waiting to be exposed?

I would be surprised but not dumbfounded.

Hopkins is extremely hard to hit clean, a great counter puncher, tough chinned, a natural 175lber, 100% win ratio against southpaws, has a wealth of experience, is a dirty fighter and a great ring general

Regardless of his age that's enough in theory to beat Calzaghe

Nopes! Bhops has become more agile and hard to hit as he aged.

You're not expecting him to stay in the middle of the ring and trade . . . do you?

He'll win this fight round by round by points. :yep

Hops has a sneaky right hand. You cant say how JC will react to it until fight
time. Trying to compare Kessler to Hopkins is used by desperate Calfags.
Joe's speed should bother Hops more than his power will. Wouldnt be surprised
no matter who wins as long as its a back and forth fight.

We know that Hopkins can be beaten, three fighters have done it before. They used speed and/or workrate to do it. Calzaghe has arguably the best combination of speed and workrate of any active fighter and one of the best in the history of the sport. Hopkins can be content to cruise in a very close fight if he thinks he is ahead, as he did against Taylor. Calzaghe never takes anything for granted and fights hard in a 12th round against a dangerous opponent despite leading on the scorecards. Hopkins resorts to dirty tactics, which also means he doesn't trust his pure boxing ability to do the job. Calzaghe is so confident, he doesn't use dirty tactics, even when an opponent is really challenging him like Kessler, he finds a way to win with class.

Hopkins slowing down Calzaghe's punch output? Maybe, but if it is cut in half, Calzaghe still throws twice as many punches as Hopkins. Calzaghe enforces his will and gameplan better than Hopkins does, many think Hopkins is the king of ring generalship, but watch those Taylor fights again - Hopkins gave those away against an inferior fighter. That would never ever happen to Joe. Someone as lethargic as the version of Winky that fought Hopkins would be utterly annihilated by Calzaghe.

Yes, I would be surprised if Hopkins wins. He had a remarkable career, but Joe is simply the better fighter.

I wouldn't be surprised as I'm predicting a close UD win for Hopkins.

No I wouldn't be surprised at all. Calzaghe is one of the most over rated fighters in history.

No, I agree, I wouldn't be surprised by a Hopkins win; I think he can do it, actually.

A gift decision wouldn't surprise me.

Hopkins actually throwing more than 9 straight rights a round would surprise me...and you can't win doing that against JC.
