    He publicly admitted he ducked/wouldn't fight an opponent because he felt he wouldn't win/get KO'd.

    Has this ever happened?

    Ray leonard admitted waiting until Hagler was past prime before facing him. He also admitted trying to get a rematch with Duran as quickly as possible because he knew he would be out of shape.
