    If You Were

Paul Williams Would You Go 30-70 to fight Cotto
Shane Mosley Would You Go 30-70 to fight Floyd
Cotto Would You Go 30-70 to fight Floyd

Etc Etc... would you sell yourself short?

in p willys case, hell yeah.

he hasnt quite earned enough stripes to demand anything more than 30% with those names you listed. -but whats ****ed is that neither would give me a shot anyway.

Perhaps only if I was Williams, then it'd be like 40 to Cotto's 60.

If I were Shane or Cotto I wouldn't defer to Floyd as he is not so big a draw as he think he is. Just like them two I'd be chasing Pac for 40 to his 60. If I were either guy facing Floyd I'd ask for 50/50.

It depends. In the situations you listed....

    Yes for Williams.
No for the other two, but I think that Mosley should concede 40-60 for Floyd.

Void has already proven himself.........he has refused to fight Cotto, Margarito, Mosley and Pac. He wants lightweights with his referee, judges, venue, commentators, etc. Will be soon call out Christy Martin?

Shane shouldn't, he is in the twilight of his career and should only fight for big money, his legacy is already cemented.

it really depends on the person/promoter.....like one guy could make like $15 mil, but the opponent would make $5 mil......some guys would say thats cool, others would think they would get ripped off....

williams is young and I dont think money is an issue with him....

a guy like mosley which has proved himself, cares a lot about the pot of gold at this stage of his carear.

It depends on the other options and what point in your career you are at.

yeah, think of it as an investment. You win that fight you should be able to get more big money fights down the road. Though in PW's case that might not even help.

see thats the thing... how can it be about the money?

shane is probably never going to fight floyd at this point..so he is going to make NO MONEY!... and he probably knows this...

so why does he keep bitching about fighting floyd? he really wants to fight & beat him badly it seems like.. so does he truly want to fight & beat him .. or is he just searching for a check

if he really wants to fight floyd he would do it for free...

well the week of the fight for pac-hatton...mosley spent the whole week talking to the press on how he wanted to fight the winner....so I do think money is important to mosley at this stage.

yeah but i cant use those examples because those fights are obviously for $$... but i mean... shane has bitched about fighting floyd for the longest and like.... if you really want to fight him i dont get why he doesnt just pitch a ridiculous split that only an idiot would say no to... if shane is really that confident he will get his little bit of money but he will be the top dog and get that shine

Oh come on. Mosley would have to be a total moron to do that.

Mosley wants a fight with Mayweather or Pacquiao because they are the biggest money fights, biggest events (fighters have been known to love the spotlight and adrenaline rush of being in a big event like that), and also legacy cementing bouts.

But ego, pride, and greed have killed fights in the past.

Mosley couldn't accept being "low-balled" for a 3rd DLH fight, so he looked elsewhere (Mayorga, and then Wright).

You figure that ego and pride help fuel fighters to get in the position they are in the first place. It's not easy to just accept getting destroyed at the negotiating table.
