    Seriously though?

Look at some of the heavyweights from around that time who are in.

    Johansen is in.

Tommy Farr is on the ballot most years.

Why isn't there a debate on admiting Carnera?

i'm gonna say no because of his mob ties. his resume is not terrible especially compared to some already in the hall but i'd feel better if he was left out.

Do you think that many fighters already in the hall, didn't have similar mob ties?

Come to think of it, can you name any fighter from that era who didn't have some connection to organised crime?

Thought he was already in for some reason

Looking at their website the only HW champs not in the IBHOF between Sullivan and Marciano are Hart and Carnera

Carnera must surely have a better claim than Braddock?

good point. i guess all the rumors about the sharkey fight being fixed leaves a sour taste about putting him in the hall. btw, i don't believe it was a fix. sharkey was throwing hard shots at carnera before the ko. it was a hell of an acting job by sharkey if he threw the fight. he didn't go to the acting school of pep and lamotta. :)

He has the whiff of 'fix' about him though

Do you think that Braddock was not involved in fixed fights?

Why do you think he lost his boxing liscence?

Its not the first thing you think of when you hear his name though, his story is what made him 'great'

But to be honest if Sharkey and Baer from that era are in and they achieved not much more than Primo then maybe he should get some consideration

I don't think that Carnera was in the category of Sharkey or Baer, but I think he was better than Braddock.

He has suffered a grave injustice, in the extent to which his name is associated with fixed fights.

i don't believe in the mcguigan rule for voting in fighters. he was as worthy as mcguigan, ingo and willard. but i don't think they belong in the hall either. carnera's borderline for me but gun to my head, i vote no today
