Without a doubt Hector belongs in the HOF...he was utterly brilliant before Rosario, and was excellent thereafter as well.

I don't like to post polls. It allows naysayers the freedom to log in under multiple different accounts and give their preferred answer more than once. They also don't give justification or feedback as to "why" people feel the way they do.

I'm surprised he isn't in already.

For some fighters it takes several years after their last and final bout before being inducted. Marvin Johnson was retired for over 20 years before he was finally inducted into the world boxing hall of fame in 2008. its also largely based on popularity in terms of who gets the votes. Camacho for all his greatness was not well liked in a lot of circles. He came off to some as being overly flamboyant for a boxer.. Had a big mouth and fought a style that wasn't always pleasing to watch for some. I still think he'll be inducted at some point, but it could be as soon as 6 months or as long as 30 years.

That is true, but part of it is on him. I suppose a posthumous induction will happen someday.

No, but he's real close, like in the same veil as Donald Curry.

    They both belong

Ray Mancini is in. I guess his media darling status and popularity got him in. It certainly wasn't based on his ring accomplishments.

Barry McGuigan is in. Achieved much less than Camacho and Curry. He was a hero in Ireland. My guess is that status influenced his admission.

Brian Mitchell? Never beat anyone better than Tony Lopez. South Africa must have lobbied for him.

Camacho wasn't my favorite fighter by any means - never particularly liked his persona or out-of-the-ring antics - but there are far, far worse fighters already in the HoF (i.e. Ray Mancini, among many others), so he should be inducted.

Yes, their are fighters their, with much less talent, and accomplishment.
