Yep! It was actually Cotto's physical strenghth on the inside that kept Mayweather on the high alert and honest.
The fight could have been alot more competitive if Cotto had the beard to get on the inside, attempt to rough house and stay there.
There's a price to pay doing that however and Cotto likely did'nt feel he was capable of paying that price.

I'll tell you what... I want to see a second fight. I believe that Cotto can make more considerable changes than Floyd. Floyd will have to work on the following:

    1. Not getting caught in the ropes to stay there... I honestly think that Cotto will drag him into that.

    2. Shoot more that lead right hand

    3. Shoot more that uppercut.

    For Cotto

    1. Move your head when you see that lead right hand coming
    2. Finish the one two three combination with a hard jab instead of a hook to the body.
    3. Don't throw a right hand to Floyd, just make a right hook to the body instead.
    4. Relax... I think that Cotto spent too much energy in the first three rds in order to study Floyd a little more...
    5. Block that uppercut.

I think that on a second fight, Cotto can make this a little more closer... If the ppv numbers are over 2 mil... Mark my words... This rematch will happen.

Why not. It would still be competitive.

I'd rather see a Pacquiao fight or Martinez.

I agree but Sept. is too soon for Cotto to fight again. I see him fighting someone(K-9? Kirkland?) at the end of the year then Canelo in May 2013.

No, Cotto will still fade. He fades in every fight. His only shot is to win by KO. It won't happen.

Intrestingly enough I think both men can implement some new wrinkles in the fight, to the naked eye those right hand flurries Floyd landed did not have the effect most where expecting because Cotto knew they where coming he actually blocked a good amount. Floyd was the clear winner but I'd actually like to see Manny take on Cotto again at 154lbs call me crazy but I think it would be intresting though I understand nothing truly ******ts it.

I wouldn't mind watching a rematch since they are both probably my two favorite "elite level" fighters.

I don't think the outcome would be different, but this first fight was entertaining and I think just a little closer than everyone is saying.

No. A wide UD isn't cause for a rematch, really. Cotto was the champ and all so I suppose there is a bit of an argument if Money is going to continue to defend that belt, but I wouldn't like to see it, no. 10-2 on my card, 9-3/10-2 on most cards, what's the point?

****ing absolutely. Even though Mayweather won clearly.

If Mayweather doesn't fight Martinez, this is the next best available match-up for him. I think that was pretty well proven this weekend.

Don't even talk to me about Pacquiao, please. Yeah, yeah, styles make fights - but watch Pacquiao vs. Marquez III. Don't tell me that guy matches up better with Mayweather than Cotto did on Saturday night. Some nuthuggers surely will, but get real. :blabla

If Castillo I merited a rematch, there's no reason for Cotto I - the hardest fight since Castillo I (and third toughest behind that and Augustus :yep) - to not also merit one.
