If a channel had a routine British bill on PPV e.g. Chris Edwards v Usman Ahmed and every fight on the undercard 'live' Would you pay? What would be the max for this type of bill? I probably would give a fiver to a channel, and would be a regular sucker coming back for more
i'd watch anything at moment, ppv or otherwise just give me some boxing ffs, boxlull is doing my head in
Probably not TBH. I can think of quite a few British fights I'd pay a fiver to see but a run of the mill (with the greatest of respect to the belt) title fight probably wouldn't be enough for me to do it regulary.
Why doesn't the BBBofC set up cameras at every UK show (including tiny cards at some local leisure centre) have it all for £10 a month, have a feature that you can replay any of the fights through a red button feature. and you have the option to download the fights onto a DVD for your own pleasure. Promoters get money through advertising (a large 5 minute break between fights with 'pop up' sponsorship at the bottom of the screen and the money is distributed proportionally with the number of fights per promoter (bonus for real title fights World (large), Euro, British (medium), Common and area titles (small)
Would depend on the fight but I probably would pay for most British/Commonwealth/Euro fights that looked to be competitive. If they hooked them up with a half decent US fight with full undercard then bingo see you Setanta. Lots of ifs there though
I would pay to watch anything at the moment, the lack of coverage is a headwrecker, it would be great if we could even do online ppv's for the big American fights if they are not being shown on sky etc.
brillaint idea but realisticly it would cost nearer £20-30 a month and would there be enough subsribers
i wouldn't pay to watch edwards - ahmed. although it was entertaining, quality wise that was not a routine british title fight. although this does not specifically answer your question, i'd be interested in a pay-as-you-view sports channel, so instead of having to pay 20 quid or so to subscribe to sky sports and only watching the boxing and the odd footie match, you just pay a couple of quid per "event"
It could potentially kill off Sky and ITV with all the hardcore fans going, and instead of forking out £15 every few months for one card, they'll hand over £20 a month for near unlimited boxing.
I would pay up,i always do.The whole ppv thing in this country is pathetic. The big fights in Germany all go out for free on RTL or Zdf.
