    Throwing a prospect, who's been used to the three round amateur system, into 12 round fights from the start of his professional career would be a bit ****ed up in my opinion.

    Its hard enough for an aspiring pro to make it to the top of the game already.

    And as already pointed out, it would "generally" shorten a fighters career.
