all three tough tough tough either one could take each other at any given time if they were "on" for that fight. are they the dominant ones today? if not what other great middles would rule today?

Hopkins could give LaMotta alot of trouble by spoiling, possibly the others, too.

hopkins couldnt handle the pressure jake would put on him hes never had a man like that in front of him. tiger physically biggern than hopkins and joeys a master boxer with a punch and great defense(the only one i see hopkins really giving some trouble to, but still getting beat.)

I don't think Giadello or Lamotta would go without losses or dominate at MW today, just like they didn't in their own era, and I'm not sure either come out on top. In Hopkins era both never become champ. Against the likes of Taylor, Pavlik, Abraham they face world class boxer punchers that have clear advantages. If they step up to 168 and face Calzaghe at 168 they lose emphatically.

They would be playing "pass the parcel" amongst themselves, and B Hop,fine fighter that he is would not shine so brightly ,because he would be a" little fish in a big pond" instead of the other way around.

Tiger at his best was the best of the three IMO.

Tiger would beat LaMotta 10 times out of 10, his style was just tailor made for him.

Giardello would probably split fights back and forth with the other two (as he did with Tiger when they actually fought).

Why's that? Guys like Joppy, Holmes, Sturm, DeLaHoya, Abraham, etc. all became champions in Hopkins' era. Why couldn't Giardello or LaMotta do that either?
