damn that was intense, i was sitting here waiting for a grown up to shout, take it easy guys, its just sparring, but those 2 little warriors just kept going at it.. one a little more textbook and polished, the other more raw and physical, their styles complimented each other, that was really awesome..
You called it. Getting ready for National tournament. One has been boxing for 5 years( white trunks 11 year old), the other 8 months (black trunks 13 year old). They are perfect for each other.
This is good stuff. If these guys continue to improve they should have a bright future in the sport. Hopefully I'll hear more about these guys down the line.
50 or 51 - yeah. But he doesn't get a lot locally anymore - so those are mostly tournaments. Record is like 44-7. 1 loss in last 27 bouts. We'll see if he can keep it up. Carlton just started, but he's a great athlete and his learning curve is ridiculous - so we put him on the fast track.
Wish I had that learning curve. Or that sort of success that Zimmie has. You guys think if it was paid for you'd be willing to take bouts in Montana?
Kolya, we'll go anywhere for work. I've got these two, plus two more - one JO (16, but we are still trying to get a straight answer on turning him open in January) at about 145lbs. - Alantez Fox and his little brother Myke who is around 90lbs and 13 years old. Both with a ton of experience also. Let me know.
you say what!! 8 months.. **** thats nothing, i was thinking, his 1 round was almost picture perfect, using feints to get closer, timing the other guy(kids) jab.. cutting of the ring.. power, speed, yeah youy name it.. thats ufo like the younger one, after he got more settled, you could just see him using movement and creating angles, well again just awesome.. easy to see, that he was talented and textbook.. found his range, and used the left hook well.. its almost unreal, that kids at that age, are able to to perform at such level.. the thing that impressed me the most, was actually their allround game, it wasnt like you could instantly see a major flaw, offcourse there is allwasy room for improvment, but they just had an allround game, which included one of the most important things, namely the will to win.. it doesnt take genius to see that, its probably self-explanitory, but ill state it anyway.. the way they just walked through each others punches, that showed cujones, ive seen grown ups(actually my best friend) take a knee in sparring for less:yep wish em luck at the nationals, and if its possible, put up some of their fights, would be nice to see them, when they are even more serious..:yikes
Alantez Fox-if he were to turn open and he's in the 140's would you be willing to match him with Duran Caferro? They want to put on a big show up in Helena and get a decent East Coast contingent there, especially after Caferro fought a kid from B-More at Ringside this year and they expressed some interest in coming out. I think Alantez would be a better bout though and we have some good, experienced JO's in the general 119-141 range as well.
Thanks. Links to some of Zimmie's bouts online are This content is protected Links to some of Carlton's are This content is protected :
I'll find out about Tez. I think we could definitely put something together. If you want to email me a list, I can get back to you too. The kid Duran boxed at the RWC had been back in the gym months after taking like 5 years off. I taped that and didn't even put it online. He killed him. Send me a list - even if it's just a general wish list and I think we can start there.
Just to show you how far his coach has taken him, look at where he started: This content is protected and This content is protected . It was a long road.
