Perhaps, but I not so sure, the guy is 7-3. If anything this is a mismatch. Most retire GREAT fighters should be able to beat the 7-5 breed of fighters imo.
No, but I saw him sparring for the fight about a month before. He looked terrible, he was clearly going easy, but he looked surprised after a few shots which told me he wasn't letting them slip in.
Camacho Sr. fought this past summer against someone named Perry Ballard, and won by TKO. Apparantly Camacho is working with ANgelo Dundee as well. I saw an interview on you tube where Camacho was talking about the fight and his plans and he sounded bad. Slurred speech and not sounding like his old self. I hope he was drunk or something and not starting to get punchy. He was always one of my favorite fighters growing up, unbelievable hand speed in his prime, and as time would tell, a granite chin. Never KO'd in 86 bouts. Unfortunately he probably is fighting because he needs the money.
They have spent time in the gym together. There is an interview on you tube where Angelo talks about working with Camacho in the gym. Whether or not Angelo worked his corner for the Perry Ballard bout I don'r know because it wasn't televised.
He got popped for holding some blow in Bayonne a few years ago, but his manager bought his way out of trouble. Since then the guy's looked like hell the couple of times I've seen him. A putz who deserves every nasty thing life is sending his way now.
