I've been saying the same thing quite a few times, Clottey should have won or at least got the draw.

Last time I watched it the knockdown was the difference

    Felt Cotto won by one

Could be scored a few other ways

I didn't see it as a robbery or beat down BUT I did see it as the BEST cotto should had got was a D and that's being generous

he could had been 10x better than he was, truth be told.
he had all the tools to be a legit top WW and top JMW but the dude would refuse to let his hands go for large portions of his fights.

not sure if he would get dinged up and lose all his confidence or if he was supposed to lose certain matches and the only way he could lose and be considered the loser was for him to shut down his offense.

the 2 matches that stick out, (probably since kind of higher profile fights for him anyways) had me scratching me head wss against marg and pac. both fights, whenever he threw he was drilling them and making it look easy.

both fights (supposedly against marg he "hurt" both hands but I call BS. if he truly hurt them to the point he couldn't throw then some major damage should had been showing and if there was it would had been caught on tape to save face for that pathetic excuse for a performance.

I just don't know what to make of the guy. I've seen him buzzed like ALL fighters have been here and there but, never have I seen him in what would be considered hurt territory

how lopsided were your scores for clottey ?
I only saw it once but remember quite confidently that clottey should had got the W. but oh well.

clottey still should had opened up way more

Close fight with the Cash Cow getting the benefit of the doubt over the a lot less marketable fighter.

with a delibarate headbut , impresive stuff. fought a guy with a gash that many many people has been stop by and still couldn't pull ahead

its not the judges fault clottey slacked in the championships rounds.

people criticize hopkins, bradley buy for clottey i guess its ok

ohh ya, I forgot about how bad of condition cotto was in for most of that fight. was it a head butt ? I don't t remember, I do now remember him pouring blood, swallowing that **** really hurts a fighter. upsets their stomach badly. now I remember, thinking if clottey was of any use and used his tools to open up he could had put cotto in some serious trouble.

but clottey like clottey, had a wounded fighter for like 8/9 rounds and still managed to fight on even terms. when he should have been able to take over and put a beating on. most thinking it was a beating, I think the amount of blood pouring influenced them, I remember clottey should had got the W but way too close for the B side, or D side to get the W

Fight could have gone either way, get a grip. Watching it live I thought Cotto edged it, the next day I watched the replay and actually scored it for Clottey. Bottom line is judges don't get the opportunity to reevaluate a fight, so whatever scorecard they hand in stands.

Beating the S outta someone is what Rios did to Alvarado in fight 3, not some coin flip fight that needs a second watch.

    agreed,
this beat down talk made me just view it again. cotto looked bad (from the cut) so I think that plays into some fans minds, knowingly or not, still has an impact on most fans.

fight could had gone either way. cotto was a mess, swallowing sh!t tons of blood. clottey should had been able to pummel a blood swallowing cotto who couldn't see sh!t either.

still a Draw is the best scenario
