Just watched the hbo highlights and thats the best fight I think Ive seen for a few years.

Ortiz and Berto both throwing bombs and taking bombs. I think Ortiz, like AMir Khan vs Madiana, could have easily been stopped late in the fight, Berto must have caught him with 20 unanswered shots but credit to Ortiz was taking it and then smashed Berto to knock him down.

Great great fight. Id recommend watching this to anyone who wants to get into boxing about heart, detemination, a chin and great attacks

Im on the Ortiz train, think he would give Floyd a real fight

it was definitely the best fight I've seen in a long time. There was just so much drama and back and forth action. Like the round where Berto knocked Ortiz down and then Ortiz got up but was clearly still hurt so Berto went in for the kill then got caught with a left and knocked down. It was an instant classic.

Amazing fight and one that has silenced all of Victors doubters.

  4. You only saw the highlights and it was the best fight you've seen for a few years...???

The first 6 rounds were GREAT, and then Berto started stinking the place out by constantly throwing one punch and then grabbing over and over for the entire rest of the fight. :-(

Khan vs. Maidana still wins fight of the year so far but I definitely give credit to Ortiz for his spirited upset win. :deal

khan maidana was last year, but I agree its ridiculous for him to be commenting based off highlights. You are high if you think at any point in the second half of the fight ortiz could have been stopped. Watch the damn fight not some chop job.

I thought the fight was pretty sloppy. The second half of the fight was just hugging and taunting.

I called this fight almost down to the T. I said Ortiz would hurt Berto early and feel his power then he would go on to do his usual clinchfest and get a UD.

I was wrong about Berto winning and wow Ortiz surprised me. I was also thinking about a Berto TKO bet but Ortiz just cleared up all the questions about his heart.

  9. Gah, I meant Morales vs. Maidana.

My brain didn't begin operating at it's full capacity until about 15 minutes after that post.

rios vs acosta is better. Ortiz vs Berto is still pretty good though.

I was gonna say. If anyone was ready to go late it was Berto. I think it was in the 11th round that the ref was looking for one more punch to stop it.

I also think it was crap how Ortiz got a point deducted for hitting behind the head yet Berto who was clinching 60% of the fight was not taken a point away.
