    Thats not a proper rep,

Has to touch your chest, it makes a big difference..

200 isn't that much, but it's impressive for his size I guess. I'm smaller than him and do more weight though :yep

200kg is good and a goal to aim for.. 200 lbs isnt that much of an achievement if youve ever been to a gym for more then 2 months of your life

Going down to your chest with the bar puts, a lot of preassure on your elbow and shoulder joints. That being said doing press with dumbells is the beat way.

Going to your chest does stress your shoulders but it is how to do a proper bench press. My shoulders are gimpy from too much football, baseball, and boxing so I use the dumbells for benching like you mentioned. The problem with dumbells, at least at my gym, is they only go up to 120 lbs so I have to do high reps to get my work in on the bench.

Try not touching your chest in a powerlifting contest and see how far it gets you.

    Good effort, Ellie!

A 200lbs bench for a pretty small man is a decent effort.

    At 19 I weighed 154lbs and benched 225 x 3 times. 235 x 1 time

200 isn't "easy" weight but it sure as **** isn't that impressive for a fully grown man.

sechbach still an annoying **** though

As a basic physical strength test you should be able to bench 1.4x your bodyweight..

If not then get doing a couple of reps... You should be able to hit that within 3 weeks easy & maintain it without much effort.

(btw the figure of 1.4x is pretty rough... depends on your build really.. If tall and lean then maybe abit less)
