Without too much effort ... yeah right! I'd say benching 1.5 times your own body weight takes alot time and dedication! Unless your an ESB millionaire playboy / pornstar / powerlifter / bodybuilder / track star that is ....

    I lowered that figure.

Used to hanging out with people smaller but bulkier than me lol

Everyone should be able to get 1.2

    Shut the **** up, bro.

Being able to bench 1.5x your own bodyweight is a very impressive feat for any man, and not a 'basic' test by any stretch.

Depends on how much you weigh. I've seen guys at the gym taller and bigger than me, but lack upper body strength and can't even bench their own weight.

I'm 162ish. I can probably do sets of 190 or so? Not great, but not THAT bad either.

    I do 3-4 sets of 12 @ 150 pounds and I weigh 140. Pretty happy with that.

Half of the people commenting probably don't come close to benching 200, but can talk freely about how 200 is "childs play" on the internet

we're both in about the same boat, but apparently that is pretty weak around here. Since I normally work out alone, I tend to not push my bench to the max with something I could only bench two or three times at most.

My point is that you can bench press a lot more using a smaller range of motion than you can doing the full range of motion. I understand wanting to prevent injury but it makes me laugh to see people doing literally 1/2 reps and bragging on how much they bench press. My dad was a powerlifter and taught me to go full range on everything, stressing form and stretching over total weight when I was growing up. I guess being a stickler for full range of motion if you are going to brag on how much you lift is just a thing ingrained in me from childhood. Squatting is one lift where I remember classmates saying they could easily beat my 405 squat my junior year in high school. When we went to try it they were doing 1/4 to half squats, where I was getting below parallel. There is a huge difference in the weights you can move at full range of motion and 1/2.

Being able to bench 1.4x your body means what? Avarage physical strength? Above avarage? Supper athlete? Is age taken into account?

That is more like 170lbs and he is only doing 1/2 reps. That was pathetic.

could swear this video surfaced before, but that's **** easy on a machine.

Neither pathetic nor impressive, a completely neutral accomplishment.

So his YT character is a gimmick or does he try and dumb down for the audience?
