Well it all depends if money is the thing that controls your life, or your legacy. How materialistic are you? For me, I would take a cotto fight because I would already have more money than i could possibly spend!!!!!! How people will remember me is way more important to me then what what my bank account is at when I pass.

    Mayweather is fighting Oscar.

    Cotto is fighting Gomez.

Why is Mayweather ducking Cotto and not Cotto the one ducking Mayweather? This makes no sense, you are blaming Mayweather a priori, without thinking that it is ALSO Cotto's fault.

As I said before, the blame goes to more than one side.

If Mayweather did try to fight Cotto, Cotto would look Oscar's way. At least that's what his team said, that De La Fishnet was their first choice.

If Cotto tried to fight Mayweather, Floyd would look Oscar's way.

You have a link on the Gomez fight?

If you do I will rail on him too. I think they are both pathetic for not making the fight. And if Cotto fights Gomez, thats laughable.

And to answer your question Asterion, its only logical that Cotto doesnt turn down a big money- showdown type fight for Gomez.

I would say that if he does, its because he couldnt fight Mayweather, and that he is taking an easy (see too easy) fight with Gomez to wait out the winner.

If Mayweather really takes this fight, then the winner of Marquez-Pac 2, if the winner does so impressively, moves to my #1.

ABSURD nonsense from this cherry picking ****. This is not how P4P fighters who are a big draw and can make any fight behave, this is cowardice and shamelessness.

**** Floyd and **** De La Hoya, two shameless monument's of disgust.

Nothing official yet. But De la Hoya-Mayweather also isn't official.

"He spent Wednesday in New York meeting with HBO executives about an alternative plan for Cotto, who probably will fight in April, possibly against first-season "Contender" star Alfonso Gomez."

You'd excuse anything Floyd does and any faults in Floyd's career. I don't even think you're a nuthugger, you just horribly overrate him.

No, Floyd is to blame. Any fight with any active top 5-7 Welter means more than another awful showdown with DLH. Which any of those would be fine, he's avoided any REAL challenges ever since he hit 140 pounds and it's sickening as it continue's.

I don't excuse him. My opinion is clear: De la Hoya - Mayweather was not the fight that I wanted to see. First, I preferred to see him fight Cotto or fight someone like Williams, for example. But I prefer to see Mayweather-Oscar instead of seeing a fight like Cotto-Gomez or Clottey-Cintron.

However, I am saying that it is not only Mayweather's fault that Mayweather-Cotto didn't happen yet. I think both men have responsability.

Finally, I think this fight will happen in the future.

    What a ****ing joke.

I wish PBF actually would back up his talk about MMA so I could watch him get his ass beat.

    How has he avoided?

He wanted Zoo, the winner of Floyd-Gatti was to face off vs winner of Zoo-Hatton, with everyone thinking Zoo was going to win.

Mayweather-Brussles was a ******ed Mando that WBC pushed in and HBO ******edly accepted.

Zoo ended and losing and Hatton ended up declining.

Eze, just try to look objectively here at who didnt want the fight. Please, just try.

Would your really have us believe that Cotto would forego the fight for a small money fight with Gomez? Say it aint so.

It all points to Floyd (and that snake Oscar). The Oscar fight will pay him more, and its less of a risk. So all in all, its better for Floyd but worse for boxing and its fans.

Im not sure how you could see this any differently. As I said before, Cotto is taking a safe fight to stay busy and wait for the winner.
