that was one hell of a fight, action, good fight overral for floyd and as predicted a clear victory(altough I tough it would had gone the distance) he fough Ricky's fight and won...

Congrats to him cause he deserve it and he proved once again why hes the best in the sport.

On a more sad note, Cortez proved that he is an absolute **** and should never be allowed to be in a big fight, those forearms were used all fight long in his face and he warned floyd once and never deducted a point, ricky was warned once or never b4 he got a point deducted, a behavior like that from a referee is innaceptable.

The outcome would had been the same but you can't let a fighter use his forearms like that its a complete disgrace.

anyway congrats floyd you proved all the detractors wrong again.

He HAS to use his forearms, Ricky butted him MANY times and kept punching him behind the head over and over, he has to retaliate one way or another.

scar watch the fight, he did that from the start to the end of the fight, not by replying to ranything ricky did.

I have no problem with floyd using this if the ref cant do his job, howver the referee here did one of the worst job I have ever saw, man u could see it in ricky's face he was like wtf is that ****, I'm not saying ricky is not fighting dirty but he got punalized for doing 10X less then mayweather on this

I thought Mayweather's elbows weren't so bad given the fact that Hatton was hugging him and obviously not wanting to let go. It's not like PBF's game-plan was to get as close as possible, then use elbows to create an opening. He wanted to stay out of range and pop him with shots, but Hatton kept on hugging and clinching. I think he was just responding to the rough house tactics with some of his own.

I think Cortez took the point because the punch *aimed* at the back of his head was so blatant. It wasn't like PBF turned around mid-punch or anything. He was already through the ropes and after a second or two to think about it, Hatton tried to hit him anyway.

Whether or not you agree with the taking of the point is one thing, but Hatton knows full-well that he simply shouldn't have even tried that punch since it was so blatant.

Word. Cortez sucks. I won't make excuses for Ricky, but the ref really didn't help. In fact he probably totally undermined his confidence, but hey, still a great win by Floyd.

Just a reminder: Floyd was the first to hold. He had Rick in a headlock within seconds of the first round.

Dude give me a break, Hatton hit Mayweather in the back of the head like 5 or 6 times before he was deducted a point. And he constantly held and even grappled in the fight and didnt even get warned. it goes both ways so stop crying

I have to disagree big time on this, in the first 4 -6 rounds hatton wasnt the one holding at all, he tried to get inside firing shots and floyd was the one who holded a bit more but used his elbows and forearms whenever hatton got close and beleive me this is not acceptable for a referee

That's how I saw it too. But mate you're not gonna get this point through to the Hatton haters, it's a waste of time.
