Aside from being nearly choked out,out landed in both punches and kicks, almost KOed in the clinch, mounted, having his left leg used as a Thai pad whatelse did Rampage do to deserve the win ?

It was a close fight but one which Forrest deserved to win in my opinion - and I was rooting for Jackson.

I gave it Rampage by a rounbd but he fought like **** tbh.

I was'nt impressed with either fighter, especially Rampage.

I never want to hear that Anderson Silva would'nt destory Rampage again either.

How about a POLL, and then a debate within that poll?

I had it even after 4 with Rampage clearly having the momentum. I thought Forrest won a close, but decisive round 5 to pull it off. The judges gave Forrest a well deserved 10-8 round, so even if someone had it 3 rounds to 2 for Rampage, it would be a draw at best for Rampage. (unless MMA judges are known to score 10-10 rounds). I just can't see 4 rounds to 1 for either fighter, especially Rampage.

It was hard to hear at the bar (HUGE erruption after Forrest was announced the winner), so I never heard if Rampage's wrapped ankle was still hurt, or if his training suffered because of it. I wanted Forrest to win (but I like Rampage), BUT I would give Rampage leeway if he was currently injured, and his overall conditioning suffered as a result. He just didn't fight his best fight. I favor him in the rematch if all things are equal health wise. If I'm reading too much into the wrapped ankle, my mistake.

I was surprised to see Forest get booed. Either everybody loves Rampage (a possibility) or the people in attendance believe Forest lost (also a possibility) . . . but still I figured Forest was the sentimental favorite so they would cheer him regardless. There should be a way you can boo the judges instead of the fighters.

I felt that Rampage won the first. Forrest won the second. Third was a toss up. Rampage won the 4th. 5th was a toss-up... with Forrest winning most of the round, but giving away the last 30 seconds or so.

I definitely wasn't suprised by the decision. It could have gone either way, because of the swing rounds.

Good summary Jimmie, I also feel Forrest edged it. The look on Rampage's face and his body language after the fight you could tell he knew he lost the fight. In the post fight interview with Rogan, Rampage even admitted Forrest whooped his ass.

He was even limping really badly when he left the Octagon.
Fair play to Rampage for his sportmanship after the fight. I think Griffin did deserve the win, after the 3rd round he in my opinion, showed the most agression and Octagon control and effective striking.
But Rampage had been out for 9 months and Griffins conditioning is legendary. That may explain why later in the fight he sat back and looked to counter, with may have counted against him with the judges. Cant wait for the rematch.

This is why I don't understand the complaining, if the fighter thinks he got his ass whooped who are you to complain?

Man last night was scary on this board

who says there will be a rematch anytime soon? There are too many players waiting in line and this opens up a bunch of possible matchups

Rampage-Wand looks like a good fight now.

you can't have a rematch everytime there is a close fight!, it would stall too many fighters.
