Indeed. Kessler can go home with his fans respect. He gave a good effort. He had his share of moments. The fight wasn't totally one sided, but in the end it was a case of a very good fighter in Kessler being out classed by a legend in the making in Calzaghe.

Kessler will get his belts back soon enough when Joe moves to LH.

You know, you are right. He's a good fighter, but I don't see him beating Pavlik or Hopkins. Man was he hyped.

I'd put the house on Kessler beating Pavlik.

Calz and Kess showed me last night that they are leagues in front of Pavlik and Taylor.

    Wrong.

Any hype was justified because there was no good reason to discredit him coming in. Perfect career. And there is still no reason to discredit him because he put up a great fight against an ATG.

If the two best boxers of all time met in a ring, someone is going to lose, that doesnt make them bad or hyped, just lost against a better oppponent.

By the way Kessler smokes Pavlik and current Hopkins.

The fight wasn't that close. Kessler's vaunted power didn't materialize.Anyone that connects on those uppercuts should have taken the man out. Joe shrugged them off.I don't see where you guys think this guy is going to dominate:huh And, yes, he was hyped.

Well if Kessler was hyped - then I'm sorry but then Calzaghe is the most protected fighter ever ... all he has faced is hypejobs - not a skilled fighter between them...

Mikkel did great. No one would predict he'd stun Joe with uppercuts. He was trying to pull it out until the 12th around and that is what a real fighter does. It's just Calzaghe is no Average joe.

I'm still a big Mikkel fan, no shame in defeat.

My point was that Kessler wasn't a hype-job - if Calzaghe's best opponent was nothing more than a hypejob - what would that say about his other opponents???

Kessler would absolutely destroy Taylor and Pavlik. What does that say about their chances against JC?

I tell you who's ****ing hyped. Kelly Pavlik and Chad Dawson - American fighters.

Chad Dawson has had one half-notable win against a B- level opponent in Adamek where he was in fact floored. Now everyone thinks he's P4P top10 ? Ring magazin has him at #5 LHW, he's not even the man in his own division yet people mention him in the same sentence as a legend like Joe.

Kelly Pavlik has a win over Miranda - who Calzaghe would shutout. Then has a win over HBO-HYPEJOB Jermain Taylor in which he was floored for the 3rd time in his career and everyone thinks he's p4p top10 aswell ?

Joe Calzaghe would run rings around those 2 guys.

On the evidence of last night, so would Mikkel Kessler.

Calling Kessler hyped, dont make me laugh.
