Wow! I'm surprised how much support Carlos Molina is getting from U.K fans on twitter

The Froch comments already listed – comparing himself to Leonard, etc – happened way before he enjoyed this decent run. His arrogance has existed from the beginning when he hadn’t achieved much either – just like Khan. He’s even came up with excuses for his losses and moaned about perceived injustices. All of which spurred not even a fraction of the discontent Khan’s comments had. The different standards are clearly there.

Isnt the fact though that through Frochs actions and fights, hes earned a pass?

People HATED Froch for ages. Dont you remember the whole Calzaghe thing? He was lambasted for his chasing of Joe and the manner in which he did it.

The general forum also hated Froch, but were gradually turned around.

The arrogance of Khan prior to the Peterson match was a fall waiting to happen.

I think Ero's saying that there is an expactation of Khan to not display the same confidence/self-belief that others can. When he says he thinks he could take Pacquiao in a 4-round amateur fight, he's called a **** that needs to be put in his place. But when Froch says he would have mixed it up with Hagler, Hearns and Leonard, no one bats an eyelid.

No. He goes a step further and speaks about himself existentially, ie "the cobra" this and "the cobra" that, as if hes speaking about a character out of the Hulk or a kids TV show

I just told you. A nice, polite humble kid who doesn't trash talk and never makes bold claims, never gets too far ahead of himself. In other words, he's not allowed to be like most boxers. I gave you a few examples of double standards.

If you dislike the guy and love Froch, that's fine. Everyone has a right to think what they want, but trying to justify it with faulty reasoning is pathetic. This behavior from Khan that has got sand in people's sensitive ***** is nothing compared to the behavior from other boxers who get off free.

As for these discussions, a boxing forum is not the best place to have them, but they sometimes start because some clown makes a sarcastic comment about people pulling the race card. Most of the time on this forum it's his haters that bring up race first. Then complain with a victim mentality. People take it personally, and start trying to justify why they don't like him. People like Jack. Who called jack a racist? who called you or anyone else a racist? If you hate him and have your reasons that's fine, no need to justify yourself to anyone when this discussion comes up, because no one is talking about you personally.

It kind of is now, yes. But re-winding back to the days he was struggling with Dirrell and losing to Kessler, he was tolerated far more than what Khan was. The only ones who hated him during this period were the Mayweather type fan-base over in the gen pop who seem to dismiss anyone that isn't slick/black.

When did he compare himself to Leonard?

Deary me, Froch does go overboard, everyone used to hate Froch because of his 'ego' but he's turned 90% of the dislikers into fans.

    Did you read my post?

I like the kid. Most of his comments regarding boxing that annoy people are immitating people like Floyd talking about boxing and being caught on the hop in interviews where I guess, if he could go back and edit his comments, he would.

I dont think its fair to draw the conclusion if you see some double standards in peoples take on Froch v Khan comments, by siding on Frochs side, there seems to be a nod and a wink towards racism. In some cases, probably justified but not in all.

I wouldnt say he couldnt be like 'most' boxers though. Wlad, Pac, JMM, Martinez, Andre Ward etc dont talk trash and blow smoke up their own arses

For sure a certain amount of hatred towards Khan is because he's of ****stani origin.

Back when he was fighting in the UK more often he was seen as somewhat of a poster boy for young british muslims I would say.

However, as Rico pointed out, I would still say that the vast majority of the hatred towards him is because of his EXTREMELY cocky personality.

He's just not a likeable guy.

I keep waiting for him to put on a massive signet ring, punch the air and say "by the power of the cobra!" like that cartoon from about 20 years ago, thundercats?

In all honesty i'm bored of hating on him now, I actually want to get behind him and cheer him on, seeing as he's british and he is a warrior inside the ring.

Hence why i'm avoiding his interviews at all costs

Another free pass we cant let Froch off with but still hilarious with the Danish TV show

"I grew up in a really tough area"

    "Tough how?"

"Eh, my bike got stolen and eh, my dad used to shout really loud at me"

    (im paraphrasing of course)

Froch talks a load of bollocks too, just like Khan, only reason he gets away with it is because he's on a winning streak right now.

Same reason we tolerate Mayweather and all his bull****.

Hence why Khan should keep it zipped until he wins a few good fights.

I did mate. when I said "if you hate him" I was talking generally, wasn't saying you hate him personally. I'm in the same camp as you. Not a fan, but he's okay. Bit thick, bit deluded, but which boxer isn't? I just think his comments are analysed way too much and he gets hounded for every little thing.
