Minus the fighter signatures, the claim is invalid.

That's why she's suing GYM not Stevenson. Per standard management contract, GYM was fully authorised to negotiate on Stevensons behalf (Duva would not expect to hear from Stevenson himself) and Michel indicated that he had Adonis' agreement, based upon which Duva made decisions which subsequently cost her money. In effect Duva is saying that Michel lied to her and she lost out financially as a result.

As has been mentioned though, I think a large part of the reason for this claim being brought is more to try to lift the lid on Haymon and Shaeffers relatively opaque business methods as much as a particular desire for financial recompense or any belief that Stevenson can somehow be 'made' to fight Kovalev.

    Hell hath no fury...

I'm pretty sure ME thought this over many times before filing the lawsuit. They believe they have a case and it's not something that can be tossed out easily. They have tons of emails, which will paint GYM at a bad light.

People need to understand this...image can be the difference between victory and defeat. ME is looking like the good guy in this fight against a former pimp and a bunch of shady characters. They hold the intangibles in this fight.

When Pac sued Golden Boy and the Mayweathers for defamation, most boxing fans didn't think he had a chance. Both Golden Boy and the Mayweathers decided to settled.

I see this lawsuit ending with Kathy making Espinoza a sandwich in the kitchen.

there is no Mayweather in two years, his only worth to them is as a boxer and he's planning on retiring, the real power of the two in the long-term is Schaefer, Schaefer is just using Mayweather as a draw to allow him to take over most of the boxing business

read the lawsuit, the promotional contract from Manager Al Haymon in Exhibit E is quite interesting

listed defendants from lawsuit http://www.doghouseboxing.com/Media-Img-2/Complaint.pdf :

    Groupe Yvon Michel, Inc.
    Yvon Michel
    Al Haymon
    Golden Boy Promotions, Inc.
    Showtime Network, Inc.
    Adonis Stevenson
John Does 1-8 ("persons or entities as yet unidentified who are culpable for the acts alleged in this complaint")

find these funny describing the defendants, she's really throwing open the curtains and wanting the light to come in, even airing Golden Boy's dirty laundry in court:
