the fighters will fight anyone, its the promoters whos making or not making it happen..ofcourse you know that.
:rofl :rofl :rofl That was back in 04...Have you heard PAC in the Phil Media lately? Its all whats right for him money wise. Id prefer him alot hungrier back in the days but his body has been thru alot of beatings lately also.
One would have to think that Pac would run through JMM and knock him out in the mid rounds. Juan would cause a little trouble with his boxing skill, but he never had the best chin: good but not great. Juan is aging also, albeit gracefully. Now is the best time for Pac to fight this guy before he fights anybody else. There are so many great fights for Pac at 130, he really doesn't need to fight at 135 yet. I just don't think he would do well at 135. The Baby Bull and Casa are some daunting challenges for pacman.
Well it's about time. We can sit here and talk about money holding up the rematch all we want, but the fact is that when Pacquiao went up to fight Morales the first time at 130, MARQUEZ STAYED AT FEATHER for almost TWO WHOLE YEARS...to defend his paper belts, only to lose those belts, followed by fighting for another paper belt. Oh yeah, then he defended this paper belt. Proof? Here you go. May 05: Victor Polo (defense of WBA and IBF belts at 126) Mar 06: Chris John (to recuperate the WBA belt he lost at 126) Aug 06: Terdsak Jandaeng (126 for interim WBO belt) Nov 06: Jimrex Jaca (126 to defend interim WBO belt) Mar 07: Marco Antonio Barrera (first fight at 130) Pacquiao, whom Marquez has been apparently "chasing relentlessly," has been fighting at 130 since March 2005. That is exactly TWO YEARS LONG that Marquez didn't chase him. That doesn't look or sound like someone who was actively pursuing a rematch, much less looking for the best fighters around. It sounds more like a fighter trying to eke out one last big payday. Hope he doesn't ask for more than he deserves, which is 40% of the purse.
I really hope Pacquiao can make 130 one last time so we can finally see all the doubts silenced, no matter who wins. (as long as it's not a BS decision) I wouldn't like to see them at 135 because I think we wouldn't see them at their best, fighting at a new, heavier weight for the first time. In addition, the true world title would only be on the line if they fought at 130.
i agree with most of you guys. a 60-4o split if fair for both guys. any of the fighters who will demand more than that split should take the blame
isnt it annoying when the top two fighters of our era are just talking about MONEY... Money Mayweather and Money Pacquiao ...i heard that the previous line of PAC w/c was "Line em all up" switched to "If the price is right"... seriously he should be a gameshow host i think hell be good at it :rofl
It needs to be a 50-50. Who does Pac have to face anyways taht he has a chance at beating. Maybe David Diaz. Because he isnt doing anhything to Juan Diaz or Casamayor. Soto-Guzman is too much risk not enough reward for him. So really the one with the highest reward and moderate risk is Marquez. They both need each other since going up to lightweight he wont have much success in. And Soto well Pac doesnt want any of that.
if jmm and nacho insists on 50-50, then this rematch will never happen. 60/40 with jmm getting 40 is the max jmm's gonna get. if this fight doesn't happen, jmm will never get a 7-figure payday while pac still goes on to fight for millions every fight no matter who his opponent is.
lol@ 50-50. You could sub in that whole paragraph and put JMM in Pac's situation and it would be the same thing. JMM has a worthless belt that Pac doesn't need and a reputation to salvage after that draw. Hey JMM, you better take whatever's offered before a better and more exciting matchup with Guzman/Soto vs Pac comes to fruition.
This fight is one of the best fights that could be made in 08. I just can't see it happening soon. Why? Here's why: we all know that JMM is under GBP and Pac's under Arum's TR. All fights that will pit Pac with GBP fighters will be co-promoted by Arum and Oscar, meaning more slices to the pie. That is something that the BobFather does not delight to ponder. There's a noticeable trend that Bob had been contemplating on pitting the fighters within the same weight division under his stable with each other, so that no one can lay their dirty little hands on his pie. A David Diaz v. the Pacster can not be a far-fetch scenario if Uncle Bob would have his way... That would not only mean more Benjies to line his pocket, :-( but also more money for little Manny in the sense that there is no one to significantly divide the loot with.:hey ...here's hoping that the best fights and match-up for Manny fan-wise (ie. v. JMM or Juan Diaz) would materialize inspite of it all...
