jmm in his heart and mind knows that the biggest money fight for him out there is against pac. and jmm fans have to accept that.
No one has to be suckered in to thinking it's "ALL ABOUT MONEY" but its not! Money is just a MAJOR variable in this complicated equation. Fighters have a lot of pride and want to fight to protect their pride, but they also want to be compensated for putting their lives on the line every time the step in the ring...many of these pro fighters have families and that is their #1 concern...making sure they have a good life and being able to sucure the future if the worse were to happen in the ring. Money is NOT the concern of fans...its the concern of the fighters who have been shafted by the powers that be in this sport for far too long.
Everybody wants Pac. Marquez should feel blessed if Pac chooses him among the rest, despite Marquez being one of the less popular of them all.
Man, can you even deny a great boxer like JMM a decent pay? despite all the ups and downs in his career you gotta recognize that JMM has worked his ass off to get to this point, the guy deserves a decent pay. All the elite hard working fighters deserve to get paid right and some of you Pacquiao fans go as far as denying him that, just because he happens to be named Juan Manuel Marquez. Then please tell me, who are the guys more popular than JMM at the moment? Can you even come up with an answer fool? Soto, Guzman, and Valero have smalled followings compared to Marquez's. David Diaz is practically a no body, the only guys who know him are us and those others who bought the Morales-Diaz fight. And you just told me the other day that Juan Diaz has no fans because he fights on regular HBO instead of big PPV cards. Moron.:deal
In case you stil lhave no clue about the sport, it is thru the people who watch the fight whether thru gate or ppv sales that revenue is generated. Marquez couldn't draw flies to his ****. So let me make it clear to you - yes he may be denied of a "decent" pay despite his great skills. And no, it is only in your own mind that he is called a great boxer. Everybody else has a more stringent criteria before calling a boxer "great", one of them is by beating great opposition. And I like how you put it, "decent pay". What is a decent pay anyway? $750K more than 3 years ago was not decent?. Wasn't $1.5M against Morales not decent? What ups and downs? You mean like the first round against Pac Ups and down my ass. Your boy has never beat any good fighter from 126-130 out of all the terrific fighters that fought in the division during his era. Oh yeah, I know. All those guys avoided him like a plague. Poor him. Elite hardworking? WTF are you talking about? When Barrios backed out of a fight against Marquez, Guzman's camp presented as sub and Marquez turn them down like its suicide. Given he is not very popular, I would have expectedhim to jump on the opportunity to up his popularity. He didn't. He instead chose to fight a no-hoper Juarez. After Guzman puts on an impressive perofrmance aginst Soto, I am pretty sure Guzman will be more popular than Marquez. And so is Valero. These guys have huge followings from their own countries and in other countries outside the US. But that is actualy beside the point. The point here is that Pac has a lot of options and Marquez is just another name out there. It will not make a difference whether Pac fights Barrera for a trilogy or Marquez, Pac will still get few millions. Question is, what option does Marquez' have? And about how much will he make compared to if he were to accept a 70-30 :rofl against Pac? Let's hear your answer on this, fool. :tong And how do you figure that Marquez has bigger followings? Too bad his last fight was on a 7000-seater arena, probably wasn't big enough for his massive fanbase. Bottomline, Marquez is getting older by the minute and the sooner he realizes that without Pac he is a nobody, the better for him. 10 years ago, he could afford to bluff but now he simply can't. Time is running out.
At 135 will be good. Marquez then cannot use his ****i'n belt to ask for more money because he's not a belt holder at 135. :yep Let's get it on! :happy :happy :happy
Thats not fair on JMM, but what the hell, bring it on, its not going to make a difference in the outcome.
JMM will say anything to get PAC's attention coz it will give him the biggest PAY CHECK of his career! Many many times bigger than the 30K purse he got from a losing cause in his forgetful match in Thailand!
Actually, when a fighter is presented a contract to sign, he the fighter has the final say. So although Arum may advise Pac to take the David Diaz fight, Pac can tell Arum, "No, I want the JMM fight....more money, and I want to beat him down!!!":hey :yep :deal
