mikey has a strategy for creating big fights, but hes also looking to make easy money, when its available. he told loma, come up to 135 and win a title and well get it on. i believe the reason he did this, was because beating loma straight up would not net as much money or credit, than letting loma prove that hes the same juggernaut at 135, that he is at 130. loma beats the highly regarded linares, now beating loma becomes legendary stuff.
i think he will then set his sites on becoming the man at 140 and take a few lucrative but safe fights at 147 before getting beat by spence.

 

too much money and glory for both fighters for it not to get made. there is no other bigger fight for money and legacy, for loma, who is running out of time... and unless mikey goes on to fight crawford or spence, this is it for him too.
what makes it easier, is that i believe both fighters crave the challenge, no need to corner either guy.

Dana hates Arum so maybe the Lomachenko fight will never come to fruition. He said he'll never work with Arum or De La Hoya but he lies a lot so maybe he will.

 

mikey would have never signed with him, knowing it would make the loma fight impossible. mikey is one of the smartest dudes in boxing, but he sees everything from a business perspective, even his legacy. i believe the stories that he never wanted to be a boxer, he was just gifted and hes smart enough to use it to make his mark.

 

Your theory sounds reasonable, if it happens. Instead I see Mikey beating the Easter Bunny in July. Then assuming Loma beats Linares, I see Honest Bob feeding Beltran to Loma, all while freezing out Mikey under the guise of marinating the fight.

But again, I doubt Mikey Diva goes back to 140 to meet those dragons Prograis and Ramirez.
