check out his scorecard feature http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/boxing/columns/story?columnist=rafael_dan&id=5808123 it mentions the audley fight and he really rips into haye! dismisses hist hw reign as pathetic and outright calls him a ducker. now whilst i appreciate some posters will agree with every word, is it right for a writer to be so biased? i mean just looking at the facts, if we compare the last 4 fights of anyone in the hw's right now, barret, valuev, ruiz and harrison holds its own IMO. i apprecitae he called out both brothers then turned the fights down, but as a writer shouldnt he have a professional obligation to not get so involved in personal opinion?
I agree with his opinions on Haye. But yes, he does go overboard with his dislike for him, and he is a terrible boxing-writer. Just imagine what will happen to his reputation should Haye go on to beat both the brothers next? He'd cement his status as a clown forever, in my book.
Not at all. He's a Boxing Commentator and that includes his professional opinion. Football Commenatators give their opinions all the time. Besides, Haye did outright duck both brothers on multiple occasions after having a big mouth, he simply didn't back it up. Those are facts anyway.............not opinion.
cry me a river he is totally right and 1000"s of people believe that too and thats i have been seeing haye and he's **** WBA strap beating nobody and fighting no serious threats like he fought one of the weakest HW in the divison and the biggest joke going into this fight. That is a pretty sad ****ing move. So many more way way way better HW's out and there. Us as the fans we wanna see some good match ups and hes a good fighter but is a horrable champ simple as that. I would like him better even if he fought holy cause he can still bang. ****ing legend bring on holyfield
He can write whatever he wants to, but I really don't care for his opinion even when I agree with him. If writing his opinion was all he had to do to get his paycheck and cheeseburgers, then he'd have the best job in the world. There are very few writters who can make a blog-like, emotional text an interesting read, and Dan Rafael isn't one of them IMO.
dan rafael is so biased it's unreal the way he goes on about mayweather is just as bad but he wont criticise wladimir for fighting a 14 fight novice who does'nt even have european level experience
I agree with his opinion on this but in reality Rafael doesn't know **** about boxing. He's a fat clown that's never even been in a schoolyard fight. ****ing *****.
I have to laugh at him calling Hayes win over Barrett as "touch and go". Yeah it was a real seesaw battle that one.
Not sure, but I think the fat slob is basically speaking the truth. Maybe we need more writers like this to pressure fighters into taking these fights? No doubt Haye will read it and it aint good for a boxer to be getting called a coward in the mainstream media.. I WAS a huge Haye fan at cruiser, and for his first two heavy weight fights. Lost majot respect for the man after his ducking of the klits.
