Sending spit flying from the ring, cutting Williams over both eyes and avoiding his counters? Is that what you mean by "effective"? :think
Close fight that could've gone either way. I had it a draw, but Quintana win is fair. Far from a robbery by any means.
I was rooting for Williams but Quintana clearly won that fight. You must be a relative of Harold Lederman?!!:huh :rasta
You guys have a pointless agruement and should get off this Thread, the fight was a clear victory for Quintana, even Williams admitted to it,he was off it was a bad night and he took Quintana lightly. But don't worry it is only one lost and your boy Williams will be back!atsch
lmao...potshot?,,,he absolutely drilled him with about 100 flush punches, busted him up and PW had no complaints...I had it a draw but the six rds I had fro quintana were easy I could have seen him winning 3 of the other six...it was FAR from a robbery
Look you sniveling little weasel. It is common practice to give the champion the benefit of the doubt during close rounds. Quintana easily won the first 4. After that he slowed down greatly, and was getting hit with clean punches. Williams pressed while Quintana SURVIVED, potshotting and grabbing on. Round 5 was clearly Williams. Round 6 as well as round 7. Round 8 I gave to Quintana because in a series of close contested rounds you have to give something to both men, so stagger the rounds. Round 11 is disputeable, but round 12 is not. Williams clearly won round 12. It should have been a draw or at best Quintana winning by a point. That 116-112 card was bull**** and anyone who rewatches that fight will see this clearly. You don't let the first few rounds sway your opinion over the course of 12. Which is what most of you clearly did. Class over. Go home. :hi: PS: Just because Williams lost to Quintana doesn't mean Margarito would. Only a buffoon would make that sort of comparison. Styles make fights.
You don't understand what potshot means do you? Also you saw it a draw. So how can you not see 116-112 being anything but bull****? 116-112 means that you never gave the champion the benefit of a close round. Not one. I saw 4 easy rounds for Quintana. 4. And those were rounds 1-4. After that he slowed down, was easier to hit and his face was marked to prove it at the end. He also did alot of holding on and wrestling to try and take away Williams' offense later on in the fight. I call that surviving. I don't know what you call it.
I thought it was a clear, but close win for Quintana. He was landing the cleaner punches. His punches looked to have more pop then Williams as well.
Even if you think Williams won, this ain't a robbery, because a lot of the rounds were close, and in that instance, the cleaner shots will usually catch the judges eye. Quintana landed those cleaner, more effective shots in the majority of the rounds; hence the reason why he got the not. I had it 115-112 Quintana
No Quintana beat Williams using the Sweet Science to nulify the reach advantage and land counters. I had Carlos up 9-3
Quintana dominated that fight. Period. The rounds that Williams got, none were convincing rounds NONE OF THEM. I tried to give Williams some rounds but it wasn't many, even the ones I did give him were like toss up 50/50 rounds. PW was not punching with any kind of authority, he was slapping and he couldn't do anything. It would have absolutely been BAFFLING if Quintana would have lost that fight despite landing nearly 50% of ALL punches. I'm sorry but PW was SCHOOLED.
