First.....that avatar is hilarious. And Zak...ya gotta give it to Jermain. Too many times in the past, he relied on talent and athletic ability in close wins (gifts or not)...this one he fought incredibly smart. Something he hadnt done in the past....and because of that, you can make the arguement that he eeked one out.
I scored it even but figured the judges would go in the favor of Pavlik. He came forward and threw more punches, whereas I thought he was so ineffective offensively at times that Taylor's clean counters were enough to win a couple of close rounds. Anything between 8-4 Pavlik and 7-5 Taylor I think is OK. There were a lot of close rounds until 11-12.
No ****, even if we lived in these Taylor fans demented universe and he won more than 5 rounds, he was due to get screwed after the scorecards of the first fight.
I don't think it was a robbery, It could of gone either way. But the scoring by the judges was disgusting. Taylor did very well defesively and blocked ALOT of Pavliks punches especially his right hand. If Pavlik didnt have a good jab he would of lost easily. Jermaine did his thing though, I thought it would be a draw but I dont have a problem with either fighter getting the nod.
He hates most fighters becouse of their past. He's one of those guys that will always remember a bad decision and then use it against him in a arguement or so lol. I disagree with Zaman tho. Taylor hasn't been "exposed". He fought a great fight and it could have gone either way imo. Taylor fought a good fight and im sure a lot of people on this board would agree with me. Nobody was "exposed" tonight..... Your just a major Taylor hater. ^^
give me a break. every media outlet i've seen even had it for Pavlik...it was close..and I think it was a narrow victory..but come one..no way a fight like that was a robbery.
Twin sons of different mothers - check out my lounge posts on the subject! And as far as decisions, short of a one-sided blowout, boxing fans can - and almost always DO - make an argument for one fighter or another. The issue with Taylor is that ALL of his significant wins are of a highly debatable nature. Tonight, he was beaten more decisively than he "won" ANY of those fights.
Let's see --- Pavlik threw more puches --- Pavlik landed more punches --- Pavlik controled the pace --- Pavlik controled the ring in most rounds --- Pavlik was the agressor the vast majority of the time ..... Wait -- don't tell me --- i think I can figure out what that means...... It means PAVLIK WON!!!!! 116-112! Boo
