So a lot of them are new to the sport. Isnt that what boxing in general needs?

More casual entertainment/sports fans to watch a big time fight?

And maybe help them to become regular boxing fans?

    To become mainstream once again?

Instead of just being sort of a niche sport where only the die hard boxing fans wanna watch?

Boxing fans can be real snooty about stuff like this.

I'm a big basketball fan also, but I never see basketball fanatics shun or ridicule the new basketball following people and say they are so stupid for not knowing what a 3 second call is, or not knowing what a travelling call means or not knowing who Dave DeBuscher, Elvin Hayes, and Jumpin' Joe Fulks are.

Bula just let him gloat over his "superiority". And let other poster like selfkill claim to be a boxing expert and label someone "*******" as if he is a fount of boxing knowledge.

Funny thing is most of these guys can't predict fights on consistent basis, and when it comes to Pac, has yet to be proven correct on their blabbering. But then an empty can clangs the loudest, and while this so-called moderator is in a boxing fight fight, he takes time to "study" and conclude the pacfans as "*******" instead of enjoying the fight and appreciating a man can bring casual fans, and might make a few of them a true boxing enthusiast. Yeah right boxing experts and "true boxing fans".

    Come on now Freddy.

You know full well not all of Pacquiao's fans are like that.

Sure, there are plenty of them who don't know much about boxing. But it was the same way with De La Hoya, Mike Tyson, or any boxer who transcends the sport itself because of a variety of reasons.

As a Pacquiao fan, it irritates the hell out of me when someone asks me how he would do against Tyson. Or when "fans" ask me how Manny can have 7 titles when his first one was against Barrera (obviously this is someone who hasn't watched boxing until 2003 or later). I get it.

For the record, I've known about him since his fight at 112 against Renato Mendones, and I've been watching him since he beat Sasakul.

But you Freddy...your motives for a thread like this are clear, but face it. Deep down, you know it hurts everytime he CRUSHES his opponent in DOMINANT fashion because you hate the guy. (I think we all know why.) You've been hoping and praying for his demise, but it just doesn't come. It's like you've been making rain dances in the middle of the Mojave Desert but sadly for you, the land's still dry.

I appreciate the passion for the sport you bring to the forum, but your bias against fighters like Pacquiao really make you sound short-sighted and ridiculous at times.

    Jealousy is a stinky cologne.

Of course, most of them are casual fans. What do you expect? They are there to support Pac and not to show their knowledge of boxing history. You started as a casual fan, right?
