I just watched the fight and Casa looked very, very good. I think he beats Pac and fairly handily.

My reasoning is his jab, use of range, accuracy with the left hand, defense, and his ability to fight when hurt. He is one cagey *******, and a legit 135lb boxer.

I believe he would stay just outside of Pac's punching barages, disrupt his rythym with the double jab and straight left hand, and fight through moments that Pac has big flurries to take a 7-5, 8-4 type of decision.

I haven't ever been much of a Casamayor guy, but he is to be respected.

casa didn't look that good. he was actually losing the fight when the KO happened. i think he lost 4 straight rounds before that round. katsidis was just careless. he should've been more conservative as he was leading the fight comfortably but i guess that's not his style. and he paid for it as he was so open and casa finally timed it perfectly. pac will definitely not be that open and he certainly is no katsidis either.

Good question. So much depends on which Casa shows up.

Nate had a perfect fighter in Diaz who would stay in front of his power. But Casa, if motivated and in good condition, can do so many things to offset that.

Its amazing to think about it, but on the right night and given the right preperation Casa could still be the best 135lb fighter out there.

I disagree. He had a puncher in front of him and a 135lb fighter, and he did a lot of little things that veteran, crafty fighters only know how to do.

He has a great ability to offset a punchers timing and power. That will serve him well against a fighter like Pac.

Diaz is the fighter IMO that would beat him, with his preasure and tempo, and refusal to let Casa pick his shots from the outside.

Totally disagree. Casa had Katsidis early, simply because Katsidis has very little defense.. HBO announcers noted he was moving right into the southpaws punch, making the mistake of moving the direction a boxer should move when fighting orthodox opposition..

What did Katsidis do to neutralize Casa's left hand for the majority of the fight? He moved straight in and carried his right hand high! He didn't try to slip the opposite direction.. That is the most basic adjustment a fighter can make when fighting a southpaw.. That he had so much success just going straight in, not using a jab, not feinting and having so much success tells me that Pac is going to eat Casa alive.

Compare Pacs power, speed, punch accuracy, footwork, ability to move in and out.. Its not even a fair comparison.. Katsidis is a very raw fighter with a ton of heart, good power, but not very solid boxing fundamentals, and no caution. He had Casa HURT many times, but was unable to capitalize because he lacks punch accuracy.. He came very close to making up for it with raw power and determination. If you ask me, he came WAY TO CLOSE to beating a fighter that is supposed to be so technically skilled to be comfortable saying he even has a remote chance at beating Pac..

A 130er who hydrates to 144 doesn't make em a JrWW. Casamayor would be naturally stronger, and his rough style would show.

Katsidis and Pac are apples and oranges, you don't need to tell me that.

And irrespective of how Katsidis dealt with Casa, Pac will still find dificulties with that jab, and the general craft of Casa.

Would you indulge me in a month off bet if the fight comes off?

Not about EM, PAC was so big and fast that night..and imo that was the best Pac ever looked. While Casamayor that night won because Kat got careless and sloppy. Kat almost won that fight. Size difference isnt too big because Pac hydrated to a comftable 144.

he could beat pac, but i'm not so sure about that perhaps pac could make it close ala marquez fights and get the nod.

i do agree that this would be a decision as casa has never been k0ed, but on the contrary barrera and morales, has never been koed before, although you could argue that morales was shot but still he has a reputation for having a granite chin and pac put an end to that. So i give him a puncher's chance as always:yep

And katsidis is overhyped, not even comparable to pac imo
