Is it because of some of the fans that make him out to be unbeatable in his prime?

You can not dismiss Benns chances so easily. Nigel is one of the hardest punches pound 4 pound in the sport and could easily take this fight with one lucky huge punch. Skill wise and tactically you would have to go with James on this one.

I think you meant the Thadzi fight?

No, I meant precisely the one I posted, where Toney was given the gift Decision.

Yes. Some clown on another forum he'd have been the best ever if he was dedicated. According to his fans, every single one of his losses was due to lack of motivation. They even claim he'd have beaten Roy if he wasn't weight drained.:patsch

Toney had great defense(especially in the pocket) and a great chin, so I'd give Benn a less than good chance of KO'ing Toney with one punch. And if that's not happening, Benn's not winning. He's getting countered to death on the inside and stopped mid-rounds.

Toney had incredible skills. He unfortunately was missing the key ingredient to be a GREAT fighter- discipline.:-(

I didn't recall that one being a gift but the Thadzi win was offical and a more decisive white boy victory.

Toney v Benn would have been a coin flip in my opinion.

When Benn was up against it, thats when he shone, like against G-Man

Here is what Benn did to barkley incidentally.........(just for your entertainment) (not sure how to link them in teh message like others hae done....sorry)

Good chin and amazing punch power = comer and brain damage. Ask Gerald Mcclean. Dont underestmate Benns ability to stop an opponent even when they are known for having good punch resitance.

Benn doesnt have a chance in hell against Toney.he cant hurt him and he cant outbox him,he would get stopped around the 6th round.

Yeah, Benn's style plays directly into Toney's hands.

Another thing: in a recent interview, Chris Eubank said Toney probably had the style to outpoint him over 12 rounds. That would have been an interesting fight.
