Virgil, a legend within his own mind, really made an improvement in Fonfara's defense as he promised......................can he improve SOB as well? With that kind of defense you can't get hit...................(thought he stopped the fight a little too soon) If appears as if Fonfara really had an uphill battle.....................such an improvement, so much better than before..................

By the way, if you stop the fight your fighter can't get hit at all, for sure!

He needs to sue Virgil for misrepresenting a trainer.

Virgil gets a bad rep for trying to improve fighters on the way down.

Virgil has had the toughest assignments in boxing training history

Picture trying to improve almost every fighter in the last 5 yrs coming off of soul taking KO's & beatings

And we not just talking about average guys we talking about berto, angulo, fanfora, quillin & khan some of the most notable but extremely flawed fighters we've ever seen

LOL If he's that good of a trainer why are non of the prospects heading to him?

Ward has made Hunter without Ward Hunter wouldn't even be talked about.

Hunter doesn't seem like that good of a trainer.

Did Fonfara get hit with every punch or did it just seem like it?

Hunter is not a trainer. Ward is just like Wlad, he doesn't need a trainer anymore. Maybe he just feels like Hunter is a close person, who took care of him, so he gives him motivation. But he doesn't teach anything, he never fought in the ring before.

anyone thinking that a trainers handywork will be seen straight away need there head read. Most improvements take years to come about. Aint no way that bad habits are just going to leave the fighter overnight.

Virgil is a bit creepy sometimes.....but some people seem to respond to this kind of talk and Ward is one that seems to thrive on Virgils rhetoric for whatever reason. The mind is a powerful thing and Virgil seems ultra focused on that element as much if not more than on telling his fighter what to throw.

Virgil is overrated as a trainer, he got a supernova
in Ward so everyone bought the elite trainer hype.
Listen close, he doesn't even give good corner advice.
    It's really crazy.

Take away Ward who is so naturally talented I think I could have trained him and have a look at the list of fighters Hunter has worked with and what they achieved under him.

I completely forgot about Brandon Gonzales, battered by DeGale and hasn't been seen since.

    Mike Dallas Jr
    Angulo
    Karin Mayfield
    Chase Witherspoon
    Argenis Mendez
    Berto
    Mares
    Khan
    Andrade

I personally think Hunter is bang average.
