Well, unfortunately, no outside U.S. fighter, other than Pacquiao of course, commands any big following here in the states with the casual fan. The Klitchko's are known in a passive way, but due to the absolutely dreadful heavyweight era we're in right now, they aren't as known/famous as they should be. Wlad was known for a short time in the celebrity world cause he was dating that hot piece of tail Hayden Panettiere.

Don't take this to personally , if it isn't Ward it would be Froch we should be happy. I was **** off too by Ward statement that Bute needed to face A level fighter while he would face less diserving boxers. Well at one time boxings fans will put pressure on Ward to face Bute if both stay unbeaten.

I don't think Ward ducking Bute but he just have one bad statement. And for Ward "fans" , they just jump in the wagon they weren't fan 1 week ago. Let them have there glory hour and look stupid by sayin that Ward is now in the top # 3 P4P

I would show you some french news where Bute , his coah and promotors all sayin that Bute want to face the winner (Froch or Ward) but i know you won't read them. but after Ward declaration and his coach declaration it look like Ward teams doesn't want Bute right now so Ibox jump on another options , that's it that's all

My definiton of ducking in boxing:

"The refusal of fighting a top contender that the media and boxing fans generally consider a threat to the supremacy of a given fighter using anything else but non-objective arguments (influenced by personal feelings, interpretations or prejudice - definiton of the word "objective" extracted from dictionary.com)".

    My definiton of a boxer:

"A person who fights as a sport according to a set of rules in which his ultimate goal is either money or fame (recognition), or both."

Therefore I concluded that what Ward did is nothing short of a "duck".

I may know the reason why you and other resonable posters avoid using the word "duck" when it comes to pro boxers: the term gets seriously missused on here.

I say Bute ducked Kessler some years ago by saying he isn't prepared to fight him at that time (according to some credible articles I've read). There's no shame in that.

Why is it so hard to say that Ward ducked Bute now?! It's not like it is a duck that Ward fans or Ward himself should be ashamed of. It is a resonable duck. It doesn't change the fact that Ward is no. 1 SMW.

But IMO Ward ducked Bute! I have no other definition of the word "duck"

As I said, you seem to be a resonable poster. Can you please tell me where my logic is wrong? I am willing to change my mind if someone can show me a fallacy.
