I think he "can" become very good. I mean the guy is young and explosive. If they go over the tapes and make a few adjustments I think he can make it big. He just tried to move a little too fast and hit a wall, good learning experience
Many knew he was a limited fighter and someone said that as soon as someone takes him to the later rounds, Lemiuex would have trouble. He was too tight and getting all those early KO´s was bad for him. He needs to relax and work on his stamina.
people were saying he was the best prospect in boxing and he would nailed on to be a great MW. Even saying he should get a title shot. and he just got stopped by a fringe fighter in his first step up. it is the very defination of a hype job getting exposed.
The guy obviously has mallets in both gloves, but that's really his only major plus. Rubio showed last night that anyone with an even decent amount of skill and wileyness can neutralize that because it's coming in such an unsophisticated way. Anyone that pays attention to boxing and doesn't get too pie-eyed by big KOs against less-than-mediocre competition, could see that Lemeiux was not a top-level boxer. For those that demand proof, I could post a link (if requested) to my post the day after his win over Camacho Jr. He has plenty of room for improvement, but Lemeiux will never be better than a B- minus. Rubio himself is at best a B+ guy, and you just saw that Lemeiux is nowhere near his level.
It's the way it works around here. In case you have not noticed, the forum is comprised mostly of cretins devoid of any reason.

this take is the defenitive view on last nights loss. He can come back but defenitely not the wunderkind he seemed.
Rubio is a good fighter with a lot of meaningful experience. In the long run David's loss at a mere 22 years of age probably won't mean much. There are a ton of guys who ultimately made the hall of fame who lost to guys who weren't as good as Rubio.
lemieux is too good looking to be a boxer, anyone who could also be a professional model can in no way have the determination to train for the sport.
C'mon, c'mon... let's not inflame our chests with nationalistic pride over this. What you said depends on the individual not on his citizenship.
i think more of the backlash on this site is against his overzealous fans than david himself. esb has some of the worst fanatics
