All this talk of Lynes, Daws and Wright just deflects attention away from Olusegun's questionable performance last night given the bold claims made about him.

Lynes loss to Daws was some 2 years ago and yet you give him no credit for what he has achieved since.

Clearly you don't rate Lynes but constantly rubbishing his achievements whilst seeing Olusegun through rose tinted glasses waters your arguments down considerably for me - no disrespect intended.

It isn't Lynes that needs to prove his worth - its the other way around.

It was an impressive domestic victory but not a world class one. Lynes-AJose is no more then a 60-40 fight in your favour Olu but perhaps you know something we don't and I mean that genuinely, some fighters have a lot more then what we initiallly see.

Jeff - are you saying you'd favour Olusegun to beat Lynes if they fought?

Didn't Lynes go Into the Daws fight feeling Ill? No wonder he had to quit.

Lynes would school Daws just like Barry Morrison did. McCracken fighters are basic and keep a tight guard but tough *******s.

I didn't want to bring that up as I thought it would be viewed as making excuses for Lynes loss but as you ask Max apparently Lynes was suffering from a virus.

I also read an article on BBN in which Daws very sportingly admitted Lynes wasn't 100% for that fight.

Good question.... Very minutely lean towards Ajose because he is unbeaten but wouldn't be at all suprised if lynes won..

Thats interesting - I don't tend to read too much into the '0'.

Lynes may not be unbeaten but the losses don't seem to have done his career any harm judging by how he has turned his career around.

I tend to go with recent form and I'm more impressed by Lynes last three performances so I'd favour him.

True his form is far better at the moment but I think Ajose is capable of raising his game when required. I'd love to see that fight now.

Doubt this fight will happen now - think Lynes has got himself in a position where he is looking at bigger fights than Olusegun but what makes you confident of his capabilities as opposed to Lynes?

Olusegun can still do big things

He didn't look great. Seemed to struggle with the fellow southpaw, he's far more effective against orthodox fighters where his speed and strange angles cause problems

That said, he showed good heart and hunger to come back from a terrible start, and in the end won it fairly clearly by 4 points on my card

He's 28, with this and Earl fight I don't see him getting much further.

elle was this question aimed at me? If so i just feel that the quality of some of ajose's wins where he has gone in as the underdog tell us more about him then his last couple of performances. With olu claiming ajose is the second coming of azumah nelson on here we are going to be hyper critical of any ajose performance- its human nature. Its very hard to go into any fight at championship level and exceed expectation. If olu had come on here and i'm training ajose he's pretty good. Check him out. Then we'd all probably be massive supporters but because of the pretty outlandish comparisons to witter and hatton- the top two light welters in the world then any performance less then sensational is disappointing. I think ajose is a border line world class operator based on those three big wins. I think he could suprise one of the alphabet champions and i don't think lynes could as solid as he is domestically. Is ajose good enough to beat witter or hatton? For me, no chance. He's world class but not world champion material right now.

Sorry, but I have to take issue with your post. Firstly, Olusegun wasnt 'badly hurt' like you say. Wright caught Ajose flush, & Ajose recovered in about one second. Wright thought he had hurt him also, but when he went forward, he realised Olusegun had taken his best shot & was OK.

Then you call Wright 'a journeyman':-( I cant believe that. I have seen the guy live on three seperate occasions, & trust me Wright is much better than a mere journeyman. I said so before the fight also if you dont believe me, I told people Wright is a bloody good fighter & Ajose was taking a big risk fighting a guy as talented as Nigel Wright in his own backyard, but thats what Olu has always said, & Olusegun has always done. Take the toughest fights possible to prove himself.

& what do I see? losts of people taking away from what is a good win. What I find funny is that Wright even said after sharing a ring with Olusegun that he considered Ajose world class, but many here are saying Ajose is nothing more than domestic level.
Maybe if more people had seen Wright live like myself, then they would realise Olusegun winning by UD in Wrights home town is a fine win. This shall be proved in the future, trust me.

& as for the Hatton huggers saying he would blast away Olusegun, when was the last time Hatton blasted anyone away that was south of 30?

Lynes a world champion pleaase don't make me laugh. What is an IBO exactly. International bollocks that is what it stands for. Lynes got stopped by Malinga who Ajose handled like a baby in the amateurs and whatever anyone says we all saw Daws make Lynes quit. Enough said. Also Lynes has pulled out of scheduled fights with Ajose at least twice. Yes I don't respect Lynes eiother as man or as a fighter. Strong words indeed but if the cap fits. Shameless man. Ajose won the WBF Intercontinental title in his 7th pro fight when he knocked out the much more experienced Holgate we did not claim the WBF title made us a world champion. When we win the WBC title then we will be World Champion.
