Not only rated Mutley highly but you apparently believed he was a better fighter than the other english light welterweights - avoided even. So your praise for Lynes after beating Mutley was said for effect (to encourage him to fight Olusegun) rather than being honest? I very much doubt anything you say on this board would influence that decision. Lynes IS deserving of some respect - although it would mean little if it wasn't sincere anyway.
Olusegun would beat Lynes. He's much improved, he's very technically correct but if you can take his jab away there is not much else happening with Lynes Olusegun has the X factor. I didn't like his wild punching at times against Wright, but at the same time his timing seemed a little off. If the preperation was poor as this Olu fella suggests, that would explain some of it He has the speed to get inside Lynes jab and cause him all sorts of problems. I always get the impression Lynes likes to fight at his own pace, and if you can put some sort of pressure on he'll struggle
Thank you sir your analysis is spot.Any sincere and honest appraisal of both fighters will point to a dominating win for Ajose over lynes.Lynes is a straight up and down steady as she goes Eddie as a boxer with no special effects.I don,t hate him as a man I just don,t think much of him for avoiding Ajose that's all. Lynes claimed he wanted the Commonwealth title what he meant was so long as he did not have to fight Ajose.
well i'm reading all this and i don't know wether olu and dunky are taking their stance out of certainly in olu's case loyalty or simply defiance.i just don't get it.to be fair i haven't seen a lot of ajose only the reid and wright fights, but i'm struggling here to understand how they can come to their viewpoint.olu states ajose will give out a bigger beating to hatton than mayweather did,yet in previous posts as does dunky slates hatton huggers for exaggerating hatton's achievments and ability.a case of double standards here? in fairness what would we all have commented, including olu and dunky if hatton had produced exactly the same performances as ajose had done against reid and wright? he would have been crucified.i mean making a big deal of going into the mighty nigel wright's own backyard in front of a few hundred spectators at peterlee leisure centre and beating the local boy, this isn't exactly like going into the lions den,and this from a guy who is from that area.i'm sorry i just don't get it with this guy,you see the claims that are being made about him is that he's the best 140 pound fighter on the planet, and i judge everything he does on that criteria, not against domestic and european level fighters.but i'm open to being convinced i'll simply wait for his upcoming fights, against whoever and judge him accordingly, but for me he has a hell of a lot more to do.
Your right, we can only judge him on what we see and so far apart from what the nuthuggers think he looks domestic class at best. If and when he steps up we may see something more that suggests he's of world class capabilities but ever since the Nuumbembe fight he has done little of note. Ajose holds the better world rating while Lynes holds the better belt and has looked more impressive over recent fights. A fight at this stage of thier careers looks a good option for both. At 29 Ajose needs to make serious waves instead of letting Olu call fighters out on internet notice boards. Many racist remarks are made purely tongue in cheek but that does not make them any less racist. Just because I support all fighters from the commenwealth with equal regard does not mean other people have to. I am not grouping New Zealanders, Canadians and the rest as being English but as they are the more likely to fight on these shores compared with other foriegn nations, I usually prefer to follow these said fighters such as Molitor, Katsidas and Eastman more than fighters less knowledge of.
There are some strange comments about Ajose on this thread:huh For me he won the fight handily, if you watch it back and turn off the daft commenting, and the whoops from the crowd when Wright actually landed a punch, that distract you from scoring the bout correctly, you'll see Ajose won it by at least 4 or 5 rounds easily. Fair enough Ajose wasnt at his best, but it was still enough to beat Wright. He would beat Lynes. Good luck to the kid and Olu, I'm a convert to the guy:thumbsup
Could It be possible you and Dunks opinions are Influenced by your truce after the Ando Vs Ajose thread Top Dog.
I'd be far more impressed had you come on here and admitted it was a bad night at the office etc.. instead of blindly defending your man (or you) who was rocked to the soles of his boots in the 4th (was it?) and simply didnt come to the races at all. Olu sturggled with Wright in the first 5 and as expected Wright faded badly down the stretch. Also, its no rubber stamp when Nigel Wright says your "world class"! If Ajose wasnt scheduled to fight against Wright then his team shouldve had a discussion with the promoter! Why was there no other pro's to spar with? Surely you couldve found some pro fighters to spar with? Will Colin Lynes beat Ajose OLU, I dont know, he has the tool, that being the stiff quick jab, but its debatable if is he has the variation. Is Ajose world class, in my opinion, NO. You say he'd hammer Hatton, I believe (no disrespect to Wright) that Hatton would walk straight through Wright within 2 or 3 rounds. Im sorry, but the boy keeps crying wolf. Great White shark of the 140lb division? How can you claim to be the great white shark of the division when all your doing is swimming with goldfish?
I have already said that the performance was not up to his usual high standards. In fact as a matter of fact it was the worst performance of Ajose's professional career. Furthermore I have also explained the circumstances. The reason we took the fight rather than ask for a postponment is that it was a mandatory and we will not avoid anyone the way other fighters do and risk being stripped of the the title. We probably should have asked for a postponment until March for proper fight preparation however we felt we would beat Wright who was actually better than we thought. Furthermore Frank Maloney did not promote this one it was Barry Hearn's Matchroom. Now if you know boxing you would realise especially in the UK they try and put things in favour of the local guy. As for Lynes, a supposed quick left jab is meat and drink to Ajose. You are going to need more than a left jab and running away fighting scared to be competitive with Ajose. Hatton versus Wright and any possible outcomes does not mean Jack because styles make fights. A can beat B and B can beat C does not necessarily mean A would beat C. If that was the case George Foreman would have beaten Ali and been the greteast heavyweight in the history of the sport. We will gladly accomodate Hatton in Manchester and end his career should he choose to fight. Rather poetic to finish him where it all started.
You are the most deluded individual ive ever come across. your fighter was lunging forward, throwing silly wild shots and eating punches until his below british level opponent tired and faded. I hope Ajose fights Lynnes next, as the only credible excuse I can think for his last 2 performances are that of complacency. Surely if it was a mandatory defence you had more than 2 weeks notice? Of course you'd accomodate Hatton in manchester, it'd be twenty times your standard purse, you dont have a fan base to accomodate him on your own home turf. Enjoy the ride as I believe you've reached your level my friend.
Ajose had an off night against Wright and Reid and erm nearly every other non opponent he has faced apart from Pryce and Nuumbembe. Everyone knows Ajose would ko Lynes, Hatton and Witter with only the need for 15secs notice and no sparring. Here are some simple facts about Ajose. When Ajose does a push up, he isnt lifting himself up but pushing the earth down. Ajose is so fast, he can run around the earth and punch himself in the back of the head. Ajose does not need a watch, he decides what time it is. Ajose can slam a revolving door. Ajose can lead an horse to water and make him drink.
We are happy to accomodate Fatman in Nigeria if he will accept a reduced purse and will cook him well before we slaughter him. As for Lynes we will take it tomorrow but until Colin develops the ball or as my spanish friends will say "Cojones" I am afraid it will not happen. Come on Colin Son come and defend the honour of England against the African and Commonwealth Champion. Colin do you want to be known as the Barry McGuigan of this era by that I mean chickening out of face your Azumah Nelson. Hell we are so confident of knocking out Lynes that we would take the fight in Essex and all 3 judges can be blood relatives of his. Hell they can even make his wife the referee for all we care. Unfortunately the public and even top notch fans as yourself are not always aware of all the politics/dirty tricks that occur in the fight game. We only realised the fight was on 3 weeks ago when we got back to the UK and saw a letter from the Boxing Board of Control. Maybe we are mad but we are from the school of thought that says when you are called to fight then you fight we don't want to be like the others who pick and choose.
dwilson obviously wants to talk to me though I don't really want to talk to him. Therefore dwilson you have worn me down as I guess I have to talk to you otherwise you will keep trying to come at me through others.
By the way I am not racist but I don't consider the European title more worthy than the African title. I don't have a problem with the European belt rather I have a problem with Colin Lynes. I really do because he is a fraud waiting to be exposed again. I have studied your comments and realise that you actually like Ajose but that you expected a much better performance than we had on Friday. Fine you will get your wish next time. Also on a more serious note this was the 1st title fight since the death of Ajose's deceased late manager Big Bad James Oyebola, coupled with the poor preparation and actually underestimating Wright did not help. We are going to make a promise to all of you interested person on eastsideboxing.com that we will never let you down. Cometh the hour cometh the fighter cometh the fighting man Ajose Olusegun the undefeated and undisputed Nigerian, West African, African Boxing Union and Commonwealth Light Welterweight Champion of the Nigerian, West African, African and Commonwealth worlds and the future WBC and undisputed World champion. I hope you are ringside for the day Ajose fight for the WBC title so that you can marvel at his performance.
