that place that talks about boxing has been informed that negotiations for a potential rematch between former undisputed middleweight champion Jermain Taylor and middleweight Winky Wright have it a major snag and it now appears that Wright will mix it up with WBO interim junior middleweight champion, and one of the most avoided men in boxing, Paul Williams. If a deal is solidified, the bout would take place at the middleweight limit of 160 pounds on April 11th or 18th.

That's a good fight altough from Winky;s perspective a Taylor rematch would have been better but fighting Williams at 160 would be good for him too.
    What is your source?

Calzaghe is right about the American merry-go-round.

The Americans are so scared of losing to a non-American that they just meet eachother over and over to avoid challenges. Winky could (and should) fight Abraham, Bute or Kessler. A Taylor rematch (zzzZZZZZ) should take the backseat to those fights. Taylor on the other hand should be a man and fight the top dog Kessler or the second at SMW in Bute - no more of this bull-****! It is time we saw some great fights and not just the same tired match-ups.

people are trying to market themselves... its worthless to fight these euro guys cause if they win they gain nothing from it and if they lose they get embarassed by a no name

Calzaghe doesn't know what the hell he's talking about. Winky spent a good portion traveling around Europe, beating up on Euros. Where did it get him? Nowhere, that's where it got him. Why the hell should Winky waste his time fighting someone like Bute or Kessler? The Abraham fight would make sense, but I'm not sure if HBO will back that fight at this time.

If he beats Winky, he'll be in line to fight Pavlik or Abraham. Pavlik and Abraham are better fights all around for Williams than Dzinziruk. Also, he wouldn't be stripped of his interim title for fighting Wright.

I don't think that will happen. But he will most likely have to fight Dzinziruk after Wright, if he doesn't opt for Pavlik/Abraham.

    Why would he have to?

You can be a multi division champion.

I'm guessing WBO politics. I dont see why he would need to with the other major titles. Ive never heard of someone needing to do so to be a multi division champion.

Unless the Wright fight is for a WBO strap I dont see why he would need to vacate.

    Just me though.
