Jim Driscoll and Abe Attel need to be on any list. This necessary in my opinion.

It's only when you actually try making a list you actually realise how many great boxers there are.

Exactly why I can't fathom why so many have Floyd Jr so high.

I'm gonna go ahead and say that while I don't have an extensive enough knowledge of the sport's history to compile my own complete list, Juan Manuel Marquez's resume is often underrated/overlooked and ranks near or above many of his contemporaries who are also considered ATG's.

That's because you don't have enough knowledge. Marquez is great IMO, but not in the top 100.

I have enough knowledge to know that Morales and Barrera are ATG's, and that anyone who has looked closely at his resume can conclude his accomplishments rank above, around, or at least very near/just below them. I don't have to know about pre 1950's era fighters to make that correlation and recommend his inclusion. Maybe top 100 is too difficult, but if he can't make it, Morales and Barrera can't be too high themselves then.

Felix Trinidad should be there around the same place as De la Hoya. I am obviously biased though.

I never said he wasn't an ATG :good

Also, I think it's easier to place a fighter once the dust has settled on their career.

Ok a solid list of over 100, i'm sure their are a fair few names who deserve to go up there so ill put them in chronological order tomorrow and then add anyone missing. once completed ill start deleting entries.

Thanks guys and keep them coming.

    Lloyd Marshall
    Holman Williams
Jack Chase among the many American greats

    Freddie Steele
    Kid Tunero

    NOT without Jock McAvoy

    Carpentier
    Thil
    Cerdan

    NOT without Villimain

    Darcy
    Sands
    Ritchie

    NOT without Henneberry

    Lynch
    Buchanan

NOT without Gilroy and little Jim Brady

Len Harvey among the English is a must

    and so on.

find your 100 and list another 100 greats from Boxing leading nations with mini profiles, and you've got a good book.

Cutting down your list to the final 100 will be difficult. You could have a section of honorable mentions (or something like that) at the end of the list.
