I'd like to see this get picked up on BoxNation or Sky now. Hopefully in the next season, as it will raise profiles hugely, especially for those who don't medal at the big championships.
I predict... Bantumweight: Andrew Selby vs Meirbolat Toitov - Selby win Lightweight: Sam Maxwell vs Yerzhan Mussafirov - Maxwell win Middleweight: Freddie Evans vs Miras Bairkhanov - Evans win Lightheavyweight: Babacar Kamara vs Hrvoje Sep - Sep win Heavyweight: Joseph Joyce vs Flip Hrgovic - Hrgovic win 3-2 GB win.
I hope your right and Maxwell wins tonight, hes had two of the toughest fights and was unlucky not to get the nod in his first and I thought he did himself proud against Lomachenko. Hes a good kid and was a relatively late starter having been a kickboxer before.
Mussafirov isn't that great, Maxwell did quite well against Lomachenko so I think he'll have a good chance here. I think Mussafirov has had 15 WSB fights, won 9 and lost 6.
I'm being a bit more optimistic, 4-1 GB with Kamara beating Sep. Evans-Bairkhanov could get interesting because the Kazakh is a puncher & Evans isnt the most durable, especially at the WSB middleweight limit.
No faith in Joyce, or just really impressed with the Croatian hulk? Both are unbeaten so far in WSB '13. Hrgovic is actually in his 3rd season, and he's 14-2 (3) overall. I see that one as 50-50, meaning GB could take four of five. Either way, I'd be shocked if they lost the overall meet. That would mean at least two losses from Selby, Maxwell, Evans and Joyce which I just can't see.
Hrgovic is very good, Joyce is alright but limited. The 3 heavyweights he has beat so far have been quite poor, the American he beat last time was awful and had a terrible pro record too.
Yeh from what ive seen of joyce he doesn't look great. Sloppy quite poor fundamentals. Im sure they said he was quite a late starter though which would explain it.
True. Gibson is a total bum. Hrgovic will be the best he's faced to be sure, but at the same time the Croat (at least in Series 3) hasn't been in with the likes of Joyce either...kinks and all.
