Boxing on a Thursday night :bbb @York Hall. As always the fight is streamed live & legally on youtube & www.worldseriesboxing.com

    Teams

Bantumweight: Andrew Selby vs Micheal Conlan
Lightweight: John-Joe Nevin vs Dauda Sow
Middleweight: Kaupo Arro vs Jeffrey Camp
Light Heavyweight: Joe Ward vs Marco Kalic
Heavyweight: Joe Joyce vs Avery Gibson

Selby vs Conlan will be a fantastic fight, they have met before at the 2011 worlds & Selby edged a thriller by a single point.

Think GB will win this, 4-1.

Arro being the one who will lose.

Do you know anything about this Arro character? All I can find is he's Estonian, has a funny shaped head & used to be a kickboxer.

No I don't its actually a guess based upon the fact our foreign fighters in the squad seem quite poor so far.

Here is a video of Camp being stopped.

Great way to start 2013's first real weekend of boxing.

GB has got an excellent team out tonight. Never heard of any of the American fighters though. Anyone decent there?

    Nice one :good

Nevin impressed me in the Olympics. Hopefully Sow gives him a good test.

Selbys opponent Michael Conlan won a bronze in the olympics for Ireland at 52kg. He fought Selby in the quarters and lost 25-24. I personally thought Conlan done enough in that bout to nick it but it was very close and could have gone either way. Conlan-Selby has potential to be fight of the series.

Strange you would think your guys who have trained with a more pro style would take to this format quite well....

More pro style? :huh Some of the worst slappers and points-centric boxers in the pros come out of the American AM system.
