from thursday to sa****ay the quarter finals will take place, so thats 40 fights over 3 days! the match ups are Cuba Domadores vs Mexico Guerreros British Lionhearts vs Ukrainian Ottomans Russia vs Uzbek tigers Astana Arlens vs Venezuela Caciques match up 1 - Cuba should dominant mexico. They have there number 1 line up out and all of there boxers have qualified for the olympics bar Robesiy Ramirez (ex olympic champion) .Any boxing fans who want to see some super skilled cuban amateurs i suggest watching this, many are quiet exciting fighters too. Potential best fight - Yasniel Toledo vs Raul Curial. Both qualified for the olympics, Curial loves a tear up and toledo while a slicker boxer isnt afraid to trade. I see this being the most competitve and entertaining fight on the card
Match up 2 - British Lionhearts vs Ukrainian Ottomans British team missing a lot fo there top names due to the recent euro qualifiers but so are the ukrainians.Britian still have Harvey Horn ,Sam Maxwell, Luke McCormack and Fraser Clarke. I think the Lionhearts will take this due to home advantage and having the superior talent. I suggest watching Fraser Clarke, he may be the british number 2 at super heavy but i think he is better than joe joyce and more skilled. He will make a big impact in the pros best match up - Denis Radovan vs Valeri Kharlamov - Kharlamov is imo the best fighter in the ukrainian line up. 21 years old comes forward and is aggresive but has good technique, Radovan is a good fighter too with a lot of experience and also likes a fight. This could be one to watch
Russia vs Uzbekistan tigers hard one to call but im going with the Uzbek tigers. While the russians have home advantages, the uzbek team have look great this season, and this is without ever using there first choice boxers, and guess what there using them now:deal although only the line up for the first leg is reveal it seems russia havnt there big hitters out. While the Uzbek team for the first leg has Hasanboy Dusmatov( 10-0 WSB record, qualified for the olympics) Murodjon Akhmadaliev( world silver medalist, qualified for olympics) Bektemir Melikuziev( youth and youth olympics champion, world silver medalist and asian champion, olympic qualifier. 19 years old!) Rustam Tulaganov (olympic qualifier) on the strength of there first leg line up i have to go with the uzbek team, its overwhelmingly good and i cant see the russians matching them. I suggest if your only going to watch one fight out of the 40 fights on over the next 3 days watch Bektemir Melikuziev. He is a young phenom making his wsb debut, he is a southpaw with an ackward but smooth style who likes to come forward and packs a punch. He really is an amazing talent who hopefully turns pro, i cant speak highly enough of him best match up - Bator Sagaluev vs Hasanboy Dustamov this is imo maybe the best match up of the quarter finals. Dustamov one of the best wsb fighters at light fly ever and is very talented. On the other hand Sagaluev is a 2015 euro games champion, is relentless , very talented and great to watch. He comes forward and is very agressive and has one of the best straight rights you will ever see. Geniune 50-50 fight between two light flys who come to fight, expect fireworks
Kazakhstan vs Venezuala not much info released so far, only the first leg of matches has the line up released. But id expect kazakhstan to dominant with home advantage and a good team best match - Samat Bashenov vs Luis Arcon - boosting a wsb record of 17-3 bashenov is a very good fighter and has competed against the likes of Lomachenko,Selimov, Toledo and host of other names. He also has a win over Arcon howevr i expect this to be a good fight. Arcon has already qualified for the olympics and will be eager to impress
ya he was good. dusmatov was amazing at light fly, the russian had his moments but hasanboy was amazing. the batemweight uzbek was relentless too but the russian looked good too
well all my predictions came through Kazakhstan,Cuba,GB and Uzbekistan all won the semis are GB vs Kazakhstan (In London) and Cuba vs Uzbekistan (In Cuba i think) GB vs Kazakhstan will be amazing, especially if they put the best line ups out, which is possible since both teams have basically their whole squads qualified for the olympics same with Cuba vs Uzbekistan, which is going to be amazing. comeplete clash of styles, the cuban boxers are the best movers and counter punchers in the wsb and the Uzbeks have proven to be the best come forward aggresive swarmers in the WSB
