Judges 1 & 3 gave it 10-9 to Tavares and have it 19-19 overall.

Judge 2 gave it 10-9 to Mytrofanov and has it 20-18 to Mytrofanov overall.

 

Round 3

Mytrofanov is whipping up overhand rights as he falls in, anticipating the grabs and sickle punches of Tavares (many of which boomerang around to the back of his head). Uppercuts by Tavares countering Mytrofanov's overhands on the way in. They're slugging it out, maneuvering around the ring at short distance as Tavares carefully avoids the ropes. BIG left hook to the body by Mytrofanov. The crowd roars its approval.

All three judges gave it 10-9 to Mytrofanov.

Judges 1 & 3 have it 29-28 to Mytrofanov.

Judge 2 has it 30-27 to Mytrofanov.

 

Round 4

Mytrofanov is firing the right hand from his rear pocket, catching Tavares' hammer-fall left in midair. Their blows keep deflecting each other, each timing the attacks of his opponent and meeting them. Mytrofanov starts to get through with his body hooks. Tavares gets him tied up and wrestles him into the ropes. The referee orders a clean break and guides them out to center ring before resuming the action. Right hooks behind the neck by Tavares, slapping and scoring illegally as Mytrofanov is forced to duck and writhe out of their way rolling and bending his neck. BIG uppercut combo by Mytrofanov jumping in close, peppering Tavares' hips. Tavares counters with his own uppercuts. Mytrofanov pushes Tavares down on the canvas and the crowd mistakes it for a knockdown, erupting.

10-9 Mytrofanov but very close, probably even in connects.

40-36 Mytrofanov

 

All three judges gave it 10-9 to Tavares.

Judges 1 & 3 have it 38-38.

Judge 2 has it 39-37 to Mytrofanov.

 

Round 5

Mytrofanov is grabbed while extending a right cross and spun around with his arms pinned. The ref yells let him go. Tavares obliges for a second but grabs again. A whole minute wasted by spoiling, very little action. Uppercuts by Mytrofanov! Tavares stands up to them and comes back with hard left hands! Mytrofanov rocked back! More big left hands as they break free of clinches. Mytrofanov is staying close, ignoring the flush left hands landing on his face and bowling in uppercuts on Tavares' belt line. Big soaring right hand on the chin by Mytrofanov as Tavares bounces a 1-2 off his face. Left hook by Mytrofanov. Clinch. Rabbit punch by Tavares.

10-9 Tavares - he imposed his messy style and did actually buzz Mytrofanov a few times.
