All three judges gave it 10-9 to Derevyachenko and have it 40-36 to Derevyachenko overall.

I can see 39-37 but Barabanov clearly outboxed him in the 1st, IMO.

 

Round 3

Derevyachenko is catching Barabanov flying at him with light midair straight flurries, timing him with straight rights and uppercuts. Barabanov launches in a few overhand lefts but hits Derevyachenko on the far shoulder. Jabs and rights placed from mid-range by Derevyachenko as he shimmies and marches forward. Barabanov weaves exaggeratedly and flops to one side to dodge, then comes up with a sweeping right hook that misses as Derevyachenko casually takes a step back. Clinch. Jab by Derevyachenko. Barabanov slaps in a right hook, blocked, and falls into a clinch resting atop Derevyachenko. Barabanov keeps trying to bear down on Derevyachenko but has the table pulled out from under him and a right hand put in his face. Flurry by Barabanov.

...and before he came unraveled from Derevyachenko's pressure he got off to a very nice start with some movement and speed on display in the 1st.

So Kazakhstan is now up 2-1, and likely about to be 3-1. (but finish the day 3-2)

As usual Lomachenko and Usyk putting everyone on their back, staving off the meet shutout.

Penultimate bout now, light heavies.

5x3", followed by another short break, and then heavyweights - again, 5x3".

That comes to only about 40-50 minutes left.

The WSB keeps it hustling. (even with the odd dance-off :yep)

Round 1

Sep is all over Lapin, slamming in hard body shots from underneath while grinding his skull into Lapin's midsection with his fists pressed together like a wedge on the way in. BIG rips downstairs by Sep. Lapin is getting rocked back against the ropes and is attempting to swallow up Sep in his long gangly arms by wrapping them around Sep's throat and torso. Sep violently shakes him off and keeps pummeling the body. Wild hooks and overhands up top from Sep as Lapin backs himself into a corner and slips punches while hunched over. Nothing but defensively pawed jabs coming back from Lapin.
