I was more impressed with him during the olympic games.

I haven't seen a lot of him, but under these rules they perform very different, and Usyk was a let down in comparison to what he's done earlier on in 2012.

Maybe Fa is just durable? He is a Pacific Islander...

All three judges had it 50-45 to Usyk.

Usyk turns it up in the 5th. Real good debut.

Fa is a solid SHW who could compete with the elite guys (although would be unlikely to win) and Usyk handled him without any trouble and overwhelmed him at times. Im interested in seeing him against someone like Hrgovic or Pfeifer now.

Total judges: 13-2 for Ukraine. (split decision for McGoldrick, unanimous for all the Ukrainians from LW through HW)

Fa was turning his back to him in round 3 when Usyk was really going after him and while Fa wasn't hurt he clearly felt Usyk's power especially in the 3rd and 5th.

Maybe. Fa seemed like a very tough kid.

To me it seemed like Usyk was still fighting with that amateur mindset. I got the weird impression that he threw his shots without the intention to hurt his opponenet

    Usyk jobbed at the stare-down.

He's got such potential for intimidation, too. His "focused" look is terrifying. :scaredas:

He flashed that same grin before & after the scorecards were read. He's just a happy-go-lucky guy. Shame, because if he wanted to he could instill fear like prime Kid Dynamite and have opponents beaten already before the first bell.

:huh He fought exactly the same as in 2012, head movement and turning his opponent. He just fought an aggressive fight against a super heavy and dominated.
