Round 2

Lomachenko is slamming in with the straight left to the temple of Maxwell. Lomachenko chips away at the body as Maxwell pops the jab out of his peekaboo while tiptoeing around on the perimeter. BIG right hook by Lomachenko, hurting Maxwell. 1-2 in answer, letting Maxwell get off the ropes. Lomachenko bobs and weaves, sticking his elbows out to parry some of Maxwell's straight pokes. Light body shot diving in by Lomachenko, and Maxwell clinches. Maxwell catches Lomachenko on the ordered break with a left hook but isn't warned by the ref. More clinching and wrestling initiated by Maxwell. Lomachenko content to tap him with a left to the body in between the grabs. Maxwell tries to pin Lomachenko's arms but Lomachenko squats and yanks them down before spinning out. Flurry to the body by Lomachenko.

All three judges gave it 10-9 to Lomachenko and have it 20-18 Lomachenko overall.

 

Round 3

Lomachenko is dropping the left hand after launching it high, then stepping in with low claps to the sides. Lomachenko is shoving off Maxwell's grabs, then flurrying into his face upon separation. Lomachenko darts in with a left hand and slides into a near split, almost falling down as Maxwell reaches out and taps him on the top of the head with a sweeping left hook. Lomachenko hangs back, draws the bowstring and puts in a left to the gut. Maxwell starts to skip backward and load up on straight right and uppercut counters thrown in ambush after planting his feet, with mixed success as Lomachenko presses.

All three judges gave it 10-9 Lomachenko and have it 30-27 Lomachenko overall.

 

The commentators playing up Maxwell's work in the last minute and claiming he should've earned a share of the 3rd. atsch

 

I was gonna say, beach sandals or something.

Thankfully his boxing skills eclipse his fashion sense.

 

Round 4

Lomachenko is throwing single left hands and getting the octopus treatment from Maxwell. Maxwell repeatedly lumps in the right hand to the body between clinches, like a grandfather clock hand. Lomachenko flashes several quick shreds to the body and backs out. Maxwell swings out with l-r uppercuts and misses as Lomachenko sways in the opposite direction of each. Lomachenko catches Maxwell backing straight up with a flush jab.

All three judges gave it 10-9 to Lomachenko and have it 40-36 to Lomachenko overall.

 

I'm not sure Maxwell getting completely shut down and abused like this isn't every bit as embarrassing as Evans getting crushed and taken out. :think

 

Round 5

Lomachenko is putting in the 1-2 and blocking as he dips side to side. Maxwell times the right hand counter while sliding his feet back, and then flops into Lomachenko to clinch. Maxwell is bouncing around, getting caught with big looping lefts to the jaw and nearly cornered. Short chest-level hook by Maxwell while bending his knees and trying to jaunt off to the left. Lomachenko keeps coming, putting up an impenetrable shell when Maxwell opens up in combination on the backfoot. BIG 1-2-1-2 by Lomachenko, and he turns his fists under for a flurry to the body immediately following up before Maxwell can react or unset his feet. Lots of clinching. Maxwell tired. 1-2 by Lomachenko, missing the jab but grazing with the left cross. Maxwell runs. Overhand right by Maxwell, and he stands his ground with a slapping combo that Lomachenko dives under going for the body.

Absolute domination. Maxwell lost every second.
