hopefully it will be a fiery encounter, i can see Lom losing the 1st round as he usually takes his time adapting but then dominate the rest of the fight!!! well thats what i hope happens :thumbsup

After last weeks 3-2 upset by Argentina and looking at this weeks Kazakhstan vs Argentina matchup i expect Kazakhstan to win 4-1 and take the series without the tiebreaker. Mussafirov, Snigur, Rouzhbahini, Kapitonenko should all win unless LW Nunez turns out to be some unused but high quality fighter like their MW Castano last week. If it does go to tiebreaker Bairkhanov is pretty good and deserved to win against Evans i would favor him.

I do worry about fair judging for this event especially the Lomachenko vs Selimov fight.

 

Lomachenko is going to have to be more aggressive than his last couple of fights, he needs to get on top early and have Selimov bleeding from the start.
In Beijing it was Lomachenko's screw shot from the outside and his right to the head on the inside that got him his points, if Selimov can stop those shots landing it might be tough. Lomachenko doesn't move as much these days, it's going to be really interesting to see how they've changed in the last 5 years.

 

Lomachenko's style is quite different from back in 2008 but i think his more aggressive pressure style will be even better suited against Selimov. You're selling Vasyl short as if he's one dimensional or has a limited punch arsenal. I expect that his variety of punches, combination punching and better defense imo should be the biggest factors. Body shots too. He was plenty aggressive against Suarez.

 

Belarusians JMW Euro Champion Rabchenko and LWW prospect Relikh are on the Monaco card too. Still disappointed Allakhverdiev got injured i was looking forward to see him again especially in the Prescott matchup. Didnt know about Bellow and Chilemba good test for both men and should see the winner become a legit contender.

 

Vysotsky, is this Dymytro Rudenkyi guy any good?

He's the Ukrainian national champ, so he has to have some skills. Do you think he has a chance against Abdullayev?

 

Im interested to see that myself although i think Ukraine's SHW's are a little weak at the moment aside from Usyk obviously. Have you seen Rostyslav Arkhypenko? He's 0-3 in WSB but lost to Hrgovic and Russo with his 3rd fight being a horrendous robbery and he gave Hrgovic a very good fight in spite of being a 6'0 CW. Rudenkiy beat Arkhypenko in the National finals and they use a similar style and tactics with both being 6'0 southpaws although Rudenkiy is stronger and a more natural HW, handspeed probably a little slower but looks to have fairly heavy hands.

Rudenkiy also fought Usyk at a Ukrainian tournament last year and was somewhat competitive, Usyk won pretty easy but didn't outclass him or anything although that isnt much of an indicator as he made pretty easy work of Medzhidov too. He definitely has a style better suited for pro fighting than amateur and Abdullayev is a solid HW having only lost to Hrgovic. I do think it will be competitive, we'll see.
