Simal rocks a wooly mullet.

 

Round 1

Rouzbahani is slamming away with left hooks and right hands as Simal ducks and springs up with his own wide left hooks tossed blindly overhead. Simal pushes out with both arms into Rouzbahani's midsection and tries assembling his guard around his face, but Rouzbahani is finding a way to nail him in his big mullet-holder no matter where it's hidden. Simal down!! Not ruled a KD, though. The ref indicated he saw it as a punch behind the head. No matter. This outcome is looking inevitable. Hard right hands by Rouzbahani, and far-reaching left hooks when Simal jumps in straight lines to escape. End of the round, Simal is cowering on the ropes and Rouzbahani just stares at him a moment, holding back and showing mercy before firing off a few more shots.

10-8 Rouzbahani (**** that no-call, first of all - plus it warranted 10-8 even without a knockdown)

 

Judge 1 gave it 10-8 to Rouzbahani.

Judges 2 & 3 gave it 10-9 to Rouzbahani.

 

Round 2

Rouzbahani is putting accurate power punches together in tight little clusters, having plenty of time to take aim and pick his spots as he menaces Simal against the ropes and then rips away over his gloves or bypassing them from the flanks. Simal tries grabbing and spinning Rouzbahani into a corner and flurries at him wildly, but is cracked on the nose with a hard chopping right and gives up the offensive. Rouzbahani keeps pouring it on him. Again Simal tries the spin move and flaps his arms at Rouzbahani. They both throw and miss in a frenzy. Simal braces against Rouzbahani and carries him to the far corner.

All three judges gave it 10-9 to Rouzbahani.

Judge 1 has it 20-17 to Rouzbahani overall.

Judges 2 & 3 have it 20-18 to Rouzbahani overall.

 

Round 3

Rouzbahani is swarmed into a corner where Simal begins to slug away with some of the wildest bombs ever thrown. Rouzbahani is sliding a half-step outside to line up and then blasting Simal in the schnoz with his 1-2. More wild attacks from Simal, just chucking his arms up from his sides full-power without regard for the consequences as Rouzbahani dances around him and counters. Rouzbahani is charged into a corner and hit with a rabbit punch. Simal nearly hurls himself 180° off balance throwing a slicing hook to the body leaping in from outside. Simal is trying to corner Rouzbahani and clobber him with windmilling overhands. Rouzbahani counters and steps off. Clinch. Simal bends forward in front of Rouzbahani and gets hammered on the back.

Judge 1 gave it 10-9 to Simal and has it 29-27 to Rouzbahani overall.

Judge 2 gave it 10-9 to Rouzbahani and has it 30-27 to Rouzbahani overall.

Judge 3 gave it 10-9 to Simal and has it 29-28 to Rouzbahani overall.

 

I can't see giving the Argie the 3rd for his mostly ineffective aggression, but he did make a barroom brawl out of it which more suits his style than Rouzbahani's. :think

 

Round 4

Rouzbahani is looking a bit tired, circling and flinging up his jab more limply. Simal comes forward with goalposts up, blocking straight flurries. Rouzbahani unrolls a yo-yo right hand out, up, and over to crash into Simal's cheekbone. Wild left hook by Simal, ducked. Rouzbahani ties up. Gum shield out. Big grazing left hook atop the head by Simal as Rouzbahani sticks a jab in his face.

10-9 Rouzbahani but that one was legitimately close - sloppy and nip & tuck.

40-35 Rouzbahani

 

Judge 1 gave it 10-9 to Rouzbahani and has it 39-36 to Rouzbahani overall.

Judge 2 gave it 10-9 to Rouzbahani and has it 40-36 to Rouzbahani overall.

Judge 3 gave it 10-9 to Rouzbahani and has it 39-37 to Rouzbahani overall.

 

:yep Either one could be dropped like a sack of potatoes if either can land cleanly.

 

Round 5

Rouzbahani dirks a jab into Simal's abdomen. They engage in sloppy exchanges, with Simal's left arm consistently wrapping in a coil on the base of Rouzbahani's neck and pulling their foreheads together. Left hook to the gonads by Simal. The ref takes a point from Simal for rough stuff on the inside, either the clinching butts or low blow or a combination. That doesn't stop either of them from wrestling as they collapse together in exhaustion after either throws a single punch. Rouzbahani shuffles off the ropes and fires a lead right hand into Simal's left eye - now swollen. Wild telegraphed shots by Simal, dodged easily with a slow and deliberate turn of the shoulders by Rouzbahani.
