Yep. Whoever settles down and gets comfortable first can take control. The last minute of the 1st hinted at that maybe being Vesialou...

 

Round 2

Strets'kyy is putting out the right jab and then hooking high, elbow level with his ears. Body slices by Strets'kyy. Clinch. Their heads almost collide, but the ref jumps in with spatulas up his sleeves. Body shots by Vesialou, landing heavily before the clinch. Big looping left by Strets'kyy before another clinch. Vesialou lobs a few soft overhands from either side and leans on Strets'kyy. The ref is kept busy prying them apart. Left to the body and a right hook to the temple by Vesialou. Another combo to the face as Strets'kyy backs up. Clinch. They push apart and Strets'kyy eats a flush right hook, turning him over.

All three judges gave it 10-9 to Vesialou and have it 20-18 to Vesialou.

 

Round 3

Strets'kyy is throwing meaty hooks up top and getting clipped with short left hands. Lots of clinching as both push forward trying to land head shots. Both men flip their hands up and bat each other behind the head while clasping one another in a tight embrace. Vesialou catches Strets'kyy coming in with right jabs snapping his head back during their rare separations.

All three judges gave it 10-9 to Vesialou and have it 30-27 to Vesialou overall.

 

Round 4

Strets'kyy is threshing over Vesialou's head with hooks twisting at the waist as Vesialou dips over to one side and goes to the body. Head clash. Strets'kyy is cut, very badly! They check it out. Time in. Strets'kyy suddenly becomes more urgent, throwing big wrecking ball lefts to the body behind his right jab and hooks up top on the way in, using a bit of weaving with his guard as Vesialou steps back and counters.

All three judges gave it 10-9 to Vesialou and have it 40-36 to Vesialou overall.

 

Round 5

Strets'kyy is poking up top with his right jab, getting close and flurrying with left uppercuts and right digs to the body. They clamber together and Vesialou wrestles him into a corner, accidentally locking horns with him and making Strets'kyy wince from pain as his cut is aggravated. Vesialou is actually being a perfect gentleman, yanking his head back when they clinch so as not to ram it into Strets'kyy's face. They actually pause in the middle of a clinch and share a smile. Both hook on the way into another clinch. Vesialou circles out and doubles a right jab, trying to keep distance. Strets'kyy gets close and shoeshines into Vesialou's face before another clinch, all arm punches but fast. Vesialou hangs back on the outside and leans over, rolling his shoulder, countering with right jabs. Strets'kyy rushes in, another clinch.

Ramazan Magomedau vs. Sergiy Lapin, light heavyweights (80-85kg)

 

Round 1

Magomedau lands a big left hook pouncing from a low crouch. Lapin jabs in on the smaller man and envelops him in his arms. Magomedau whips up a right hand and Lapin complains of a rabbit punch. They trade long straight combos while circling. Lapin is exploring with his left jab, lowering it like a boomstick. Magomedau darts to his left and fires his own jab up straight and hard. NICE left hook by Magomedau while turning Lapin, catching the tall Ukrainian standing upright with a hole in his defenses as he watched Magomedau circle him. Nice hands-down defense by Magomedau at mid-range, pulling back to let Lapin's jabs brush his chest or miss outright.
