There's a lot on Abdullayev's broad shoulders. He needs to deliver this W so that Selimov can enter his Lomachenko rubber match knowing there is more on the line than a personal rivalry.

Round 1

Abdullayev is ripping away with body shots, thumbs up. Rudenkyi stays focused and looks to get in rhythm with his pawed right jabs and 1-2. BIG UPPERCUT BY ABDULLAYEV. Rudenkyi is rocked. Abdullayev comes at him with left hooks and more of those wall-breaking uppercuts. Hard straight right through the guard by Abdullayev. Left hook to the hip by Abdullayev. Clinch. Rudenkyi takes a few parting steps and unrolls a light jab but has to clinch as Abdullayev comes in with massive hooks raining down on his sides. Rudenkyi keeps tying up. Abdullayev busts loose with powerful straights and hooks or simply by shrugging Rudenkyi off in a display of raw strength.

Round 2

Abdullayev is ducking and rolling to his left, then flying in with body shots. Rudenkyi times him on the way in with jabs and left crosses. Abdullayev moves his head and deflects the blows but is getting caught on the way in. He doesn't care. Powerful shots tossed up by Abdullayev. The crowd roars as he gets closer to hitting Rudenkyi clean on the head. BIG left hook leaping in by Abdullayev. Rudenkyi ties up. 1-2 by Rudenkyi after letting go per ref's orders. HARD right plugged into the stomach by Abdullayev. Rudenkyi flurries wide and they slam together in a clinch.

The 2nd was closer and sloppier than the 1st.

 

All three judges gave it 10-9 to Abdullayev and have it 20-18 to Abdullayev overall.

 

Round 3

Abdullayev is showing major power, making Rudenkyi stagger and reel from enormous left hooks to the body and clubbing overhand rights. Rudenkyi tries a straight left over Abdullayev's head but only succeeds in pulling him into a clinch. BIG right hand by Abdullayev after ducking in on Rudenkyi. Clinch. Sinuous upper body movement by Abdullayev, surprisingly agile for such a bulky guy. BIG uppercut by Abdullayev, just barely missing. 1-2 into the guard by Abdullayev. Left hook to the body as Rudenkyi is knocked off balance from the 1-2 he just blocked. High right hand by Abdullayev, caught on the gloves, but he keeps coming and plants a left hook to the body. Right hand over the top by Abdullayev. Rudenkyi is hurt. He holds. Clubbing right by Abdullayev. He doesn't have the energy to finish Rudenkyi off. He tosses a light right hand from outside, clapping Rudenkyi's glove.

All three judges gave it 10-9 to Abdullayev and have it 30-27 to Abdullayev overall.
